There's celebrationary pitch invasions and then there's malicious pitch invasions. Anyone throwing punches should be banned for life, but I wouldn't want to stop good old celebrationary joyous pitch invasions when a team is promoted or saved from relegation.

I have seen advertising boards where football is played saying “it is illegal for a spectator to go onto the pitch at anytime”.
Now if it said “it is illegal to go onto the field of play unless it’s a joyous pitch invasion”, then i could understand that.
But it seems a lot of spectators ignore the warning, and i wonder if some clubs will be facing heavy fines!!!!.

I get that, but after a joyous invasion,  singing dancing etc, all good humoured,  it would be time consuming and a bit silly for the police to cordon off everyone,  take their names and march them off to be fined or arrange court appearances for all of them.

big Sam to save Leeds?  or a  last act of insanity by Leeds before they go down?

More than likely won't work, but something had to change, the last 4 performances have been dire.

Apparently Big Sam's first training session is to get all the players on the Elland Road pitch, give them a ball each and any player that can kick it into row Z gets a game.

if Leeds play with the same intent as they did against city today they will stay up - unfortunately its not in their hands anymore and it may all be too late

Vital for Leeds that Southampton win at Forest on Monday,  and Brighton beat Everton. If Leeds drop into bottom 3 again I can't see them getting out.

Dundee beat Queens Park 5-3 to win title. Watch the second goal on this link, Queens Park's equaliser,  probably best goal of the season.

3 wins will keep them up, 7 points will probably keep them up, 6 points will give them a reasonable chance. There's one thing giving a backs to the wall performance against Man City, a game that they were never likely to win, but for the next 3 games they are going to have to go out and try to win.

Its highly likely that Leeds will be in the bottom 3 after this weekends games, the fact is that no matter what this weekends results are, Leeds still need to find 2 wins from somewhere to stand a chance.

Notts County will be absolutely gutted if they lose today to Borehamwood in the play off semi final…and they’re losing!

Got over 100 points in the season but missed out on the automatic slot to the Football League to Wrexham.

I hope they can turn it around as I’ve got happy memories of seeing Liverpool clinch the title at Meadow Lane in 1984.

Edit: they came back from two nil down with a seventh minute of injury time equaliser.

They even missed a penalty and survived a penalty shout before the final whistle.

30 mins of extra time to come.

And Notts County win with a goal 20 seconds before the end of extra time!

Some fight back and they deserve it on the balance of play.

Just gotta win the final now. I think it shows a real flaw in the system if a team that gets over 100 points aren't allowed promotion but that's how playoffs work I guess.

Only one automatically goes up, so it's unfortunate for Notts County that the year they get 100 pts Wrexham get more. Still, could be worse, they could be in a system that forces the regular season league winner into play offs...er..!

Whatever you think of the playoff system, today was great for me. I don't follow football; I don't bother watching it. However, I have loads of friends who are committed to the game and their club.

Cardiff and Huddersfield survived in the Championship. That was known beforehand but the scare will galvanise then next season.

In the Championship, was Millwall v Blackburn ... the Lancastrians and Cockneys contrived to knock each other out of the playoffs and the Mackems made it through. Thoroughly tragic as far as I am concerned. 😉😉

Bradford City made into the playoffs and the Bradford pubs have been buzzing all afternoon.

Next week, in the Premiership, 4 teams trying to avoid the 2 relegation spots. Millions of pounds at stake.

Talking to City fans this evening: soccer gossip has it that Wrexham have a couple of players on 20 grand a week.

21 goals in 3 games today in Premier League and no MOTD.

Great decision there, only bottom of the table teams, who cares!

Chesterfield made it into the NL playoff final after conceding in the 7th minute of first half stoppage time and the 9th minute of regular time before winning in extra time.

Do I think it would be cruel for Notts County to stay down after getting 107 points? Probably. Do I care? No. Bring it on.

Not sure what the crowd will be at Wembley but it will be pretty big for a non-league game as both clubs have strong core support and plenty of part-timers too.

Not each other’s arch-enemies in terms of clubs, but there’s always always some spice between Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire isn’t there.

Can see a healthy attendance.

Potential for a big crowd too in the League One playoff final.

Mansfield are the real enemy. They hate both clubs so it's been interesting to see which side of the fence they'd come down on. Turns out they hate Chesterfield more. Good.

I like the playoff format in the Football League and I can see why the broadcasters like it too.

But in National League that one off nature of their play offs seems too extreme.

All I would say is adopt the Football League format.

I grew up with three up three down, but I wouldn’t want to return to it.
