JohnM
Realise my health problems are minor compared to others on here, but mine resulted in me missing the Magic Weekend having to turn back at Doncaster. Trust me, that is SERIOUS. Currently sitting by my bed in Grimsby Hospital having been emptied of blood, filled with pills, etc every day since Saturday. One more test got be done, i think. Might be today, tomorrow or Wed so here for a few days yet. So what to fo with all this spare time? Post on TRL fans forum incessantly. Apologies! ckn
Get well soon You could pass your time by joining union forums and trolling them. If you're really bored, get your meds chart and spend a couple of hours reading about their side effects on the internet. If you do listen to Shadow and get a Ducati, please remember to get the organ donation form that comes with it for blokes over 40 riding a roadkill generator. Griff9of13
Get well soon John. Having spent too much time in your position I can vouch how useful the TRL forum can be for helping to alleviate hospital bed boredom. If you get a Ducati it will spend much of it's time sick and so can't injure you - if you want to be really sure get a "classic" Ducati, old enough for the electrics to have dissolved but not old enough to actually be worth decent money or to have been rewired already - a 2004 999 should do it

My 2008 1098 has 27,000 miles on it and apart from burning out one headlight connector has never had a single electrical or mechanical problem. The old days of electrical nightmares from Ducati are long gone, they are part of the Volkswagen Audi Group these days and need to compete in a corporate world. SSoutherner
That is why i suggested an early 999 they were renowned for poor electrics - not least the fuel pumps which died regularly and the poor positioning of the main wiring loom. Never had any electrical issues on any bike (all jap) I have ever owned except having to run a 2nd earth wire to a GS125 rear light that was otherwise a bit dim using just the frame as a return. And I have had them as a main form of transport for the last 30 years
JohnM
Managed to get out today. I hid in the vaulting box to get out of the ward and was smuggled out of the hospital in a laundry basket. JohnM
Damn. Got stopped by the guards at the border. Spent last week in Grimsby Hospital and now in Boston Pilgrim. Looks like leaky heart valve might need attention but that's not confirmed yet. Still trying to stabilise heartbeat and clear lungs out. ######!
