Oh no.

For those of who watched whatever rugby league was on TV in the 1970s, Leeds were on a lot (partly due to the reliable nature of their undersoil heating which enabled them to keep going when others were abandoning).

And the one constant in my memory was the many superb long-distance tries from the Dyl/Atkinson partnership, often precipitated by an incisive John Holmes pass. All three no longer with us. ☹️

Jim Parks, former Sussex and England cricketer.

One of my favourite England players from the 1960's and one i tried to copy when i played a few games at wicket keeper for my school. Sadly for me i wasn't the nimble type and was too heavy to be a success as a wicket keeper even in those days despite my best efforts

Roger & Bradley Stockton. The TT this year seems to be suffering more than usual, noting that it's always had a high fatality rate. Thoughts with friends and family.

Rugby Union player Phil Bennett. One of the ones who should have gone pro, back in the day.

Would have been a great RL player.

"I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"

Harry Gration. He was always part of local news furniture from my childhood until fairly recently.

Whilst old people dying is very sad, there’s something about his passing that brings great shock and sadness. He was an incredible ambassador for Yorkshire and one I had total admiration for. Rest easy Harry.
