I think I was watching a different game, Karl Olstrum was awesome today when he came on and seemed to be everywhere and was involved in most of our attacks, he made breaks from dummy half, off loaded on numerous occasions & his passing game (not always his best feature) was more than satisfactory.

Yea Karl played well but wasted a bit at 9 if we had a out an out 9 I think we would be a complete 17

Absolutely, apart from 1 poor pass and poor kick he was excellent, worth perservering with in that structure, he will only get better with experience in the role

I agree Karl Olstrum 2nd half was brilliant.

Carl Forber was brilliant 1st half in particular. He made chances and tackled hard !

Be good to see Fui come back.

I think haven couldn't cope with the fast play from us... I hope that continues.

Their best player was Thompson. He's a fairly decent player.

Hard to offer a contract on one performance. But the winger we had, Walsh? Thought he was very good. No mistakes, and returned the ball very well. Especially in the 1st half

Leon said in the sponsors lounge, he hoped to have Walsh signed up this week, as he was also impressed, him and at least one other to be signed very soon

If it was at whitehaven they'd declare the crowd as 67 like last time, I'd say about 1000 today

"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction."

"Imagination is more important than knowledge."

"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence."

For a first hit up thought we did well. With ball in hand we looked good and wouldn’t like to think how many sets we defended on our line. If we can cut out the silly penalties, although not sure what some were for,  and respect the ball a bit better we’ll be ok. There was some good individual performances and liked the way they were still going into the tackle at the finish typified by mellor dumping their winger into touch. Not sure all those tries should have been disallowed but nice to see some vision with the passing even though they were adjudged forward. Considering it was the first game, we seemed to be really well structured in defence which bodes well for the season. Big shout out to Carl Forber as well thought he had a cracking game but Fieldhouse did everything he had to well and looked very good. Harder tests to come but a good start.

I would have said a bit more than that,It is a long time since we have seen so many on the popularside since the World cup.?

A good start, still work to do but the signs are encouraging. Need to build up to that first game at Oldham which, even as first league game of the season, could be vital.

Its noticeable how our attack goes up a couple of gears when Penky is on, we need to keep him wrapped in cotton wool and use him as a game breaker, desperately need another specialist 9 to spell him off.

I’m not prejudiced, I hate everybody equally

I agree with most that's been said up to now . but one thing I would like to see different from last season ,is we take the points that's on offer , 18 0 in front,( 3 scores ).we get a penalty and run it ,, that easy kick would make all the difference ( 4 scores ) in front . the opposition more demoralised . After Whitehaven scored ,for 25 min of the 2nd half they had most of the ball ( with the help of some of the refs decisions ) we had a lot of goal line defending to do .Points make prizes .Having said all that I hope that a lot of those people who watched todays match will have enjoyed it .and get down this season . Great entertainment . Bet Danny Tickle was shocked at how competitive it was .UTT .

Karl had a great game and is a great number 2 for penky he just needs to read the game better as today he was trying to hard, but that understandable given it was Haven.
