I'm not sure I've ever seen one although I did go to a circus once because after they cleared all the animals out of the tent, Muddy Waters played.

Sex and Money are like Oxygen

They're not important until you're not getting enough.

I went to the Moscow State Circus in the early 90s with uni . There was all kinds of animals , they were whipping lions on podiums and half our group walked out . I didn’t coz , ya know , we’d paid and you want yer money’s worth . And it was either that or the ballet and we chose that

My favourite ones are ...

1 .. Circus Maximus (Rome)

2 .. Piccadilly Circus  (London)

3 ..Circus Tavern  (Former venue of PDC World Darts Championships)

I don't think they make enough of the Circus Maximus, when I saw it, admitedly a few year's back, it was just like a depression in the ground like a elongated roundabout, I'm sure in this day and age  a interactive experience could be made of it.

Yes I agree ... and even Kirk Douglas isn't available now to drive his chariot around it !

EDIT .. oops, it was Charlton Heston (Ben Hur) who did the chariot racing ..... while Kirk (Spartacus) was fighting at the Colosseum.

1. Small circus in rural France some years ago. Circus master to sparse audience, "Come on then, clap!"

2. Round about the year 2000, in Vichy. A circus featuring lots of horses. Front row seats with granddaughters #1 & #2. Horses galloping round the perimeter of the circus ring just feet - or should I say hooves- away. Really, you could read out and touch them. Immense noise but granddaughter #2, was captivated.

3. The Spy Who Came In From The Cold etc.

4. Tower Circus. Blackpool round about 1960 - 1962 with renowned Charlie Cairoli.. and lions etc!

Or am I confusing those flowers with Acid Drops?

Never mind on telly .... Workington should do it on the track around Derwent Park - that might bring the crowds in 😉

Nice idea . Speedway is no more so chariot racing is a goer . In fact have a full on Roman day with gladiators fighting to the death and recreations of ancient battles . See we need new fresh ideas to keep the income flowing . I’ll pop them a line
