Saturday hoping to go to Ile Sur Tet (The birthplace of French RL) along with a mountain hike to the house of the Germans with a frightening WW2 history, later a visit to a bar in the village of Mantet hosted by a big Dragons fan and later on my way home another tragic WW2 RL story which is hidden from public view.

Sunday France v Wales fun Albi:)

Paul

Please provide a full report of all of that !

See you on Sunday Pen 🙂

One of the French immigration policeman in Dieppe is a RL fan he asked me where i was going the other week and told him Perpignan for the Dragons and he told me he loves RL and watches all the matches on TV.

Paul

I’ll look out for him shortly 👍🏻

Pity I’m on such a short leash and short trip - would have loved to join you up at mantet but no chance 😥.

There's a couple of u17s games before the France game, red weather alert from today for the south west of France, it's going to be 3 to 4 days with temperature over 40 degrees and no lower than 28 degrees over night ,

Any TRLers meeting anywhere beforehand?

As I said previously last time I went people went in the Irish bar after the game.

Anyone know the travel arrangements for the Welsh team hope its not in and out in case the kick off time has to be delayed.

Paul

Bumped into the Welsh team checking into the Ibis an hour or two ago. Had a quick chat with John Kear about coping with the 40 degree heat!

It as far as I know - bbc are just poor at putting on rl stuff IMO.

Do you mean the game is postponed as far as you know? Or do you mean the game is going to go ahead?

Presume the Welsh will be on a flight home after the game but I could be wrong?

Currently in Llandudno* but assume I’ve got no chance of seeing it televised anywhere?

*Been to the Noel Gallagher gig and glad to see the Crusaders banner still in situ at one end, but sadly I think the only legacy will be a mess of a pitch (apart from odd bits where presumably the urine will aid growth)

Sport en France website has it live and is watchable from the UK.

Has the game been postponed as it's not listed on the BBC Sport RL fixtures ?  (imagine that)   🤣

I made a complaint to the B(iased)BC about the omission……just because….

Here’s the response……

Thank you for contacting us regarding the scores and fixtures feature on our sports website, specifically for the Rugby League.

We note you were unhappy with the lack of fixtures for France v Wales on June 19th, feeling that it showed a bias against Welsh Rugby.

The fixtures for the match were shown on our fixtures page, found here:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/scores-fixtures/2022-06-19

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/match/EVP3908625

We can assure you that there is no bias against any country when reporting on sport. Welsh Rugby is regularly reported on it's own dedicated page, found here:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/welsh

We do value your feedback about this. All complaints are sent to senior management and we’ve included your points in our overnight report. These reports are among the most widely read sources of feedback in the company and ensures that your concerns have been seen by the right people quickly. This helps inform their decisions about current and future content.

I’ve replied, thanking them for the confirmation of their bias…😂😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

I also pointed out that the information in the links about the game were after the event…..
