#rlwc2021 trending number 1 on uk twitter.

Rugby league going viral seems as on-brand a moment as any for Twitter to fall over.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I agree he but obviously he won't be worrying about that.

The first thing they all say is that it is about the team, they really do play as a team.

We should get that French official to do the men's match at Warrington next year, would be a decent leveller.

They'll blame us of course - Elon Musk is counting on it. :kolobok_wink:

Congratulations England.

What an intense contest that was, both teams gave it everything.

Isn't it about time we had neutral referees in all forms of international rugby league, though?

What’s the deal with the French coach saying the English didn’t focus on disabled players and went for spectacle and a show?

Does it operate differently in France?

I guess the sport is young and rules will adapt as issues arise.

Are all the England players non disabled? Kind of takes the shine off for me if so. Abled bodied players have a big advantage when it comes to fitness and training.

For all the stick the organisers have had, theyve got this pretty much spot on!

Absolutely top notch, the wheelchair tournament. It’s an Olympic sport in waiting.

Many of the England players were clearly disabled so I’m keen to know what the French coach meant when he said that.

No, there is a limit to how many able bodied you can have on the pitch. You can have two legs and be disabled.

No you can only have the maximum of two able bodied players at time on the pitch.

I’m not expert and someone will help but I heard it was just one at this World Cup.

He’s probably having a dig when it comes to how England use their bench

I assume it was getting in your sour grapes early.

The rules are the rules - no point complaining.

If only Samoa had some native Samoans etc etc.

The rules of the game (as codified by the French, who invented it) are that each team can have up to two able-bodied player on the court. So the England team is the same mix, more or less (albeit no female players) as every other one in the tournament.

That inclusivity is something at the heart of the game, and one that stops it from getting disability sport funding or, if enough nations end up playing it, Paralympic acceptance. Let nobody say that Rugby League ever makes things easy for itself.

The sport is fully inclusive, that's the beauty of it.

I think he was making a general point that the proliferation of able players now in wheelchair is taking away from the less able players and it’s becoming uncompetitive for them with all the physicality. James Simpson gave a response that whilst at the top level that may appear the case, at the community league level, it’s completely different and still a sport for all
