Have I noticed a bit of an improvement in things though? I actually read the Nobby article which makes a change from me taking one look at the headline and deciding not to.

I agree. The article about London Skolars potential takeover is one I haven't seen elsewhere and the interview with George Stokes was a decent read. I was critical of some of the articles of late so also right to praise the higher quality ones.

Both as bad as each other. Like Aaron never reported on something where he didn't break the original story. 🤣

What is the etiquette for something said in an open press conference?

Not even in the same league. Bower puts out a lot of exclusives and I have seen LRL credit other sources when they haven't broke something first. LE journalists don't seem to even bother trying to get an original story these days and there have been multiple instances where they haven't even attended clubs weekly press conferences then just ripped off the answers to other journalists questions into an article.

As above, what is the etiquette for an open press conference? I can't remember reading the names of every journo asking a question when the answer is printed.

I think the general etiquette is if you're going to cover it, someone from the publication should at least turn up. We're pretty much at a point now where there are 4 main groups of publications - League Express, the REACH/Rugby League Live led by Matt Shaw, Love Rugby League led by Aaron Bower and the BBC local news - each with multiple journalists.

If you are attending an open press conference, be it in person or over the zoom calls then it's fair game to report on the answers to other journalists questions since you can't have everyone asking the same thing.
