Ralph Rimmer's new role

I’m going to stick up for Rimmer and say he stepped up and responded rapidly to Covid to secure funding for rugby league before any other sport. A fair achievement.

That is undoubtedly why the government has appointed him for this crisis management role. They are in the crapper.

Why would it? In other sports an ex-CEO getting a job in another sport wouldn't get any more column inches than what it has got in Rugby League either.

It is everywhere that RU is in trouble, it doesn't get a mention anywhere that they are looking to RL to save them, imagine if it were the other way round ??

The Government appointed him.

Aside from the coverage in the RL press and the thread on here, it has been completely ignored

To be fair they arent looking at RL to save them. They are looking to a man who used to be CEO of the RFL to save them.. it is quite fundamentally different. Did the LTA look to RL to help them out when appointing Richard Lewis, or did they look to Richard Lewis to help them out.

It looks from my vantage point like English union needs a dull, risk-averse accountancy approach to steadying the ship over the next few years.

Given that brief you could do a lot worse than Ralph Rimmer, perhaps with Michael Carter as a right-hand man.

If you need vision, inspiration, and rapid growth, Ralph probably isn't your guy.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Perhaps then it was the faux tweed hunting jackets and Golf Club style Fiji japes that clinched it.

That they are over paying their players and their salary is too high is i would imagine would be among the first 2 things he will tell them

Cant believe this is staying under the radar and not really getting any column inches, certainly in league publications ?

I'm having a lot of fun with union mates down here about it

They have no idea.....none at all 😂

Agent Ralph will have a 6 team Gallagher Premiership by the end of the year

Sale and Newcastle kicked out for being too far from the south.
