Sat 16th - Sun 17th Sept: The Betfred Championship (Non-TV) Match Thread

Excellent win for the Rovers. Will give them loads of confidence for the play offs. We had a few who didn't make the squad who will be ready for Widnes on Sunday too. We have nearly a fully fit squad going into the big games and we will be hosting them at ours. Couldn't ask for a better set of circumstances really. Heard Shorrocks picked up a season ending injury yesterday too. Next three home games (if we win the semi and nobody should take anything for granted) really ought to have bumper crowds. Up the Rovers!

Swinton Lions v Whitehaven Swinton by 4
Widnes Vikings v Sheffield Eagles Widnes by 6

Think for London it will very much depend on the selection of players as been a couple of blip weeks, York being one of them, when coaches have made some strange selections. They have won the majority of matches with the consistent spine and just movement around the middles and centres!
Very low level of signings too considering where they are in the season and position in the league, does this mean players have got offers else where and if so, are London bothered?

Was the referee better in the second half?

No. A bit of an embarrassment to be honest. He started smiling and winking at the crowd when he gave penalties against Toulouse.

Maybe someone can clarify, but can the referee overrule the linesman and give a try?

Broken jaw. Missing H, Dom and Jake now. I can't even see TO winning a semi final at the moment.

Regarding offers elsewhere, the majority of players at other teams have the same thing so it's not just a London thing and going on when I have seen them they look very much bothered. Also if a lot of the players are leaving then going out on a high would be the perfect way to leave wouldn't it?

Yes I believe they can

Thanks for clarification...don't see much point in the flag wavers then. I thought they were there to help the referee make the correct decisions and not make mistakes.

Swinton v Whitehaven is a huge match now. Swinton win then Whitehaven need to beat TO next week which, at the moment and how depleted TO are, looks like a good chance.

Yes, and it happens quite a lot.

The crowd were quite amusing. Permanently outraged, perhaps the funniest one was when in the second half Kheirallah then Jones made a 70m break, Marion walked back slowly so that he was right in line of Featherstone's pass from the play-the-ball, the most obvious professional foul but didn't get a yellow card, yet the crowd still started booing!

The REF can take advice from the Lino to help him make his decision but the final decision is down to him irrespective of what the lino says

They were booing Killer. It's the 1st time they've had the chance to let him know what they think of him.

Looks like the referee made several mistakes then
