Nothing to do with disciplinary matters, other players have done much worse in the past, Hock, Chase come to mind, sounds cynical but this is purely about money and cost cutting.

If it isn't a disciplinary issue and the club have used it as a reason to release him then he will have a very strong case for unfair dismissal - in particular if he was still under contract (which I imagine he was, otherwise they would just have declined to offer a new contract).

What has he done that makes it more or less worse than Hock and Chase

Someone said on another thread a few weeks ago that, he went away to his friends wedding after being told no. No idea if that is at all truthful though.

You are comparing Koukash running the club to King and Blease. Whole different situation.

As for Budgie rumours are he was AWOL, don't know for how long or where the wedding was.

Is going to a friend's wedding in the middle of the off-season really a big deal? No idea why Salford wouldn't just agree to it.

It's a stretch to make "not turning up for work" into a gross misconduct offence at all, let along one resulting in a sanction of instant dismissal rather than a final written warning. If the rumour is true, he probably has a case.

Clearly Salford were looking to reduce the wage bill, and thought after his performances last season he wasn't value for money. Pretty cynical stuff, but then when you're running a club on the smell of an oily rag I guess you do what you've got to do eh.

So, to be acceptable for them, it must be less than or equal to being chased by police down the wrong lane of a dual carriageway whilst drunk.

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me.

Interesting to see what happens next. Has it actually been reported in the press what Salford have accused him of, and not just gossip?

A crime worthy of disciplinary action in anyone's book 😉
