Interested in the ruling there, why wasn’t that a penalty for offside?

I think he gave the first knock on which was before Leeds tried to make the break.

I’d be sending him off there but I’m sure some will argue that it shouldn’t even be a yellow.

That is a red every time. He rose into that tackle and made no attempt not to hit the head.

Did they mention mitigation of Gildart dropping to the floor? I thought that was very minimal. So Donaldson is a very lucky lad.

Yeah, they claimed mitigation. He'll get a ban.

It was a forearm directly to head. Falling attacker or not, and the Comms seem to think that isn't considered mitigating anyway, that should've been red

And for me, that kind of tackle was always open to beibg a red. We do seem to be seeing more tackles like this which should just be flat out reds.

Pretty much same as Brierly last week so they are being consistent

The problem you have is by looking for mitigation, you aren't balancing it by looking for aggravating factors like him springing up and rising into the tackle.

The disciplinary will consider that and it's very likely he'll get a ban.

Also he had both feet off the floor, he was jumping into the tackle which would increase the force of the contact.

Yes, if we allow mitigating factors, they should be looking at aggravating factors too.
