NRL powerbrokers are reportedly considering a bold move to buy the English Super League in what is shaping to be a historic investment.

That is according to The Daily Telegraph who are reporting the NRL have begun investigating the ‘financial viability’ of taking over the rival competition.

Should the NRL be successful in its takeover, players could potentially move between competitions and countries within a single season”

No thanks

Judging by the average Aussies attitude towards Superleague, international competitions and anything that’s not NRL or SoO coupled with the ideas put forward by Matty Johns, it’s a big NO from me.

Johns suggested that our better players could go to the NRL while some of their Reserves could gain experience here with the odd star player doing a guest stint to flesh out their earnings. That illustrates the attitude to SL

I have begun investigating the ‘financial viability’ of taking over Apple.

It may or may not be viable.

If all the clubs chip in we might afford a Granny Smiths apple, that’s as close as we’ll get!

Superleague would become a feeder league for the NRL.. no thanks

If Wigan win tomorrow superleague would have proven that they produce better teams..

When was the last time Australia got the courage to play England ?

This could be a great opportunity to rid the sport of the law suit by clubs leaving the RFL to sign up with the new comp and leaving the RFL to dwindle and die thus unable to settle with the claimants and insurance would be with the same company as NRL????

Points 1 and 2, very fair. Point 3, sure they'd gladly have played us in the RLWC final if we had got there.
