I find it mad that you have all the Specialist channels like Sky PL, Golf, Cricket, F1, Darts (only kidding) and not a Sky Rugby (both codes) channel but then TNT might have screwed that. I'm happy with my NRL App.

Soccer is a Ponzi scheme. A tax right scheme. A money laundering scheme. It's a sham sport. The biggest con in sport (outside of the US, who run their own flavour of madness). Will the bottom ever fall out from it as remember reading the rise of money in the game will not hold out for ever but that was back in 1995.
Northern Eel Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 There's some really pertinent points being made here, but I ask, as I can't say I have noticed it for myself, how different this is to all other channels who produce/show RL game coverage?

All sports have replays, crowd shots, close ups of managers etc. I'm also interested in why you have only just decided this isn't for you, this has been standard for decades. Yes, most sports like this. Doesn't mean I like it. Decided to ditch a bit ago. Frustration was getting the better of me, season was just ending and Sky wanted to increase my subscription by around 70%. Also my home town club Sheffield playing in home city so will spend time money going to a live game. Edited May 1, 2024 by RS50 1

I really don't think that Sky will change anything just to retain your subscription. 3. You wouldn't be trying to recruit others to your cause, would you? Yes to all three points.

tiffers Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 Interesting perspectives on here. I took up a new sky membership a couple of years ago because I was getting so little RL outside of sky. Not surprisingly in the deep South West of England there aren't too many pubs that are showing RL and it was pretty much my only way until this year with SL+ coming in. Not to mention the sporadic nature of the Ch4 deal meant I couldn't keep up with when it was on and it largely clashed with other commitments. Safe to say I've since enjoyed watching a tonne of Championship football, cricket and darts since. None of which I was watching before either. Can't say I am overly bothered about the replays - its pretty normal amongst all those other sports too. 3
CRZ Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 Now tv is £35 a month on a rolling contract without the next for the box/ satellite. Just before the season started they offered me £20 per a month for 12 months so its all good. I also like championship football so a winner for me with the playoffs coming up.
Dave T Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 I don't suppose this is a particularly complex discussion. People have different circumstances and tastes and will ultimately put different value on the same thing. I think Sky Sports is brilliant, the OP doesn't - that's fine, and not really much to discuss tbh. 3
Damien Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 Got an email yesterday saying Sky Sports element of my package is going up £5.

My main gripe is there’s still too many games being broadcast simultaneously. I don't care too much about the simultaneous broadcast but I do care about the spoilers meaning I can't watch them separately as if they weren't simultaneous games But I won't raise that here

The pubs will usually put on down here if I ask ....especially multi screen ones...be brave and tell them....also exposes people in the pub to it I'm the same that I end up watching other sports in SKY...I don't really massively like football but watch a fair bit of it
