Depends.

If you are drinking your way down - start at Harry's Bar > Fernandez Tap > Distillery Bar > Bridge Inn > ground; then yes.

Could throw in Supper Club and Qubana; definitely.

How far to walk from station?

sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward

Which one?

From Westgate it's a good 20 minute walk if you're fast. From Kirkgate maybe half that.

For pubs I'd also suggest the Black Rock (on the way from Westgate).

After that lot you might even be optimistic for a York win.

As mentioned 20-30 mins.

Not a troubling walk at all and there are some really good bars on route (if that's your thing).

Taxis from the City to the ground are only about £5.

Distillery Bar is immediately over the road, but you would never know it's there.

I recommend in for at least 1 drink.

It's in the old mill complex opposite the Bridge Inn.

Enjoy your day.

I wouldn't be completely surprised by a York win. It's sport. It happens.

Wakefield weather on sunday, mmmmm ☺️

Screenshot_20241010_192919_Chrome.jpg.a62a53d16a3a1a6e7ec829c79ac2e8ff.jpg

Going to be great weather for a Rugby League game and also for spectators, hopefully a sell out crowd and a great game.

Think it will go down to last 10 minutes before there is a clear cut winner, hopefully Wakefield Trinity

Looking at the squad for Wakey its the first time for months we have those players fit as a group I can't see past a comfortable Wakefield win over the 80 minutes, I am sure York being in the form they are in will compete well for a good period of the game but I expect Wakey to pull away and secure the victory especially with home advantage

I understand completely the loophole that Trinity have exploited to be able to name Trueman (and of course he might not play anyway), and they've done nothing wrong, but that rule needs to be looked at. You shouldn't be able to field a debutant in a semi final.

It's a complete free hit for the Knights, no pressure on us at all. After the start we had under Hendo to where we've ended up under Mash is nothing short of miraculous. The boys should just go out there and play, and if Wakefield don't win by 20+ with that squad then we've done well.

There is no loop hole, Wakefield signed Trueman well before the transfer dead line and Hull were happy to get rid.

If Hull were happy to get rid before the transfer deadline, why did Trueman play for Hull FC the day after the transfer deadline? I think I'm right in saying that due to injuries Wakefield played Jowitt and Hood at half back that weekend!

The transfer deadline is there to prevent a situation where, for example a Championship club can sign a SL player to play in the closing games of the Championship season after a SL club's season is over.

The way around this - or loophole, if you will - is for the documentation to be done before the signing deadline, and then for the Championship club to loan him back to the SL club for their remaining games. Presumably Trueman would have kept playing for Hull until their final game on September 21st, had he not been injured in that first game after the transfer deadline.

Again, neither Hull nor Wakefield have done anything wrong, but the rules need looking at. As they currently stand, any player that is going to be released at the end of the season from a SL club that is not going to make the play-offs can effectively play on a short-term deal for a Championship club once the SL season is finished, simply by signing a full-time deal for the Championship club before the transfer deadline and then being loaned back to the SL club. That's a loophole.

I don't think Trueman will play and it doesn't matter too much this year as barring a massive shock, Wakey will be crowned champions and even if they don't I expect them to be in IMGs top twelve.

But I agree with Phantom, the rule needs amending where if you loan a player out after the deadline, that player can't play for their parent club again regardless. Otherwise clubs will he much wiser next year. We could have "signed" Donaldson & Waine then "loaned" them back to Leeds & London and then they "return" to us for the play-offs. As Phantom said, a player shouldn't be making his debut for a club in the play-offs.

One problem with your argument,Trueman was on a long contract at Hull and under normal circumstances had a further 2 years (i think) . So in effect Trinity took over his contract and this would normally come with a transfer fee. You don't know the details and neither do I. Perhaps the loan back was in lieu of payment/part payment ? Perhaps Trinity also paid a fee at the time of the signing, or they paid his wages on the date of the signing, we dont know.

This is not a straight forward matter, but it was totally within the rules. The examples of a player ending his contract that you mention are a totally different scenario altogether. Also why would a SL club allow this unless there is something in it for them ?

What are you even arguing here? Hull and Wakefield identified a loophole and exploited it. Fair play to them. Nobody is accusing them of anything underhand. I'm sure the loophole will soon be closed.

You're all over the place here. I've explained fairly clearly what has happened (and have pointed out that's it's all within the current rules and that neither Hull nor Wakefield have done anything outside the rules).

It's fairly obvious why Trinity didn't announce this signing on deadline day...
