For something you now think is a non-issue, you've made quite a few posts about it.

I'm surprised you and Phantom even mentioned it given how you keep saying you don't think it's a thing.

I think the rule is an issue, it's possible that it won't have an impact this weekend because Trueman might not play but it definitely needs looking at before next season as every CEO in the league will have taken note of it.

The reason the thread has seen so many posts is because two Wakefield fans became intent on taking it as a personal slight on Trinity even though it was made abundantly clear that that was not the case.

Would you like to discuss the game of rugby now?

I do think its a thing, because its a thing. I'm not bothered by that thing, but that seems to bother you.

Wakefield 25-12 York

You keep saying it doesn't bother you, but can't stop referring to it. Odd.

Methinks thou dost protest too much.

No, you haven't made a big deal of it, apologies.

You are wrong to call it a loophole however - that suggests skulduggery.

It's the same people complain of the "loophole" of how bans are served - it's not a loophole, it's the rule (and always has been).

Don't forget the loophole allowing Issaiah Vagana to become off quota too.

Distillery Bar is immediately over the road, but you would never know it's there.

I recommend in for at least 1 drink.

It's in the old mill complex opposite the Bridge Inn.

Enjoy your day.

Will enjoy our win😂hope Toulouse win. Don’t want to play the final on the school boys pitch at odslum

As long as Mikey Lewis doesn’t get injured tonight he could be playing for York tomorrow as he was once on dual reg for us

sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward

No he couldn't. The rules don't allow that.

Totally wrong, Wakey have signed Lewis and he is now back on loan to HKR for two seasons.

When I saw the thread had grown from 2 pages to 4 since I last looked, I was quite excited that there was a lot of interest in the match, maybe tactics, predictions etc.

I've been on these boards long enough that I really should have known better!

I think it will be a good game, probably following the season's pattern of the PT club giving their all for 60 mins, before the extra quality and FT status kick in, and Trinity pull away to a seemingly comfortable win.

I'm guessing 48-18 to Trinity.

Alternatively, Jake Trueman comes on in the 79th minute and kicks the winning drop goal.

Then the internet impodes.

It is, because a Super League player could make his debut for a Championship club in a semi-final. Fair play to Wakefield for being canny enough and having the resources to pull it off.

It's not too dissimilar to when SL clubs signed NRL 'guests' for the play-offs around 2005/6. They did nothing wrong but the loophole was soon closed.

But he’s not a SL player. He’s a Wakefield trinity Championship player. He has been since he signed for trinity months ago.

And it’s not a loophole. No matter how you try spin it.

He is a trinity player who has been loaned to Hull for remainder of their season.

If you were to want to prevent that then you would have to stop loanees having the right to play for their parent club after their loan concludes. Towards end of the season.

I won’t engage in a debate because the above is correct and if anything else is stated to the contrary it’s incorrect.

So onto tomorrow’s game. Should be a good match up. York are one of the form teams and they have the ability to cause some problems if Trinity aren’t focused or shy of effort.

Im expecting a close game for most of the match with trinity ultimately winning by a few scores by the end.

Looking at the squad for Wakey its the first time for months we have those players fit as a group I can't see past a comfortable Wakefield win over the 80 minutes, I am sure York being in the form they are in will compete well for a good period of the game but I expect Wakey to pull away and secure the victory especially with Full Time players and maximum cap spend.

Fixed it for you. Full time is more important in this league than anything else.

Up to now, I've been concentrating on the SLGF game so have missed much of this discussion.

What is all the fuss about?

No, it's funny.

I think it's worth pointing out to some posters: A loophole is "an ambiguity or inadequacy in the law or a set of rules".

So, it's legal.  But it's not right. And therefore ought to be changed .

Gav. There now seems to be a larger posse of Trinity fans chortling away and repeating the same argument. By TRL rules that means you've "lost" and have to "move on".

Am seriously thinking of making this my signature for this forum.

As one or two have stated, this topic has rather derailed this game thread, for which I apologise for my part having been the one who brought it up. So I've started a new thread specifically for this topic so that people wanting to discuss the actual game can do so without (hopefully) having to read another 2 or 3 pages about this side issue.

Loophole = Rules that some people don't like.

I'm not sure we'll see it happen again, but I hope the RFL amend the rules, so that fans of little, part-time, under-funded clubs can stop crying about it.*

Now move on.

Looking forward to today's game very much! Should be a cracker.

*Hope to chuff York do us over now 🙃

Loophole. Noun. An ambiguity or inadequacy in the law or a set of rules.

Because they might close the loophole?

Literally nobody has cried about it. Wakefield have been praised for exploiting it if anything.

Won't happen... but we can dream! 😁

If Wakey were to lose, would their signings for next year still happen or were they signed on the basis of promotion to SL?
