O/T - but aren't Farsley Celtic currently playing in Buxton, nearly 2 hours drive away from "home"?

I wouldn't know. I'd heard a suggestion that FC weren't keen on allowing a ground share, which could have contributed to the Bramley proposal not making the final few under consideration.

If there are other issues for the football club/ground that may have played a part.

Looked it up - they're playing at the Citadel, Newlands, Pudsey.

That's their usual ground (the one I was originally referring to). Traditionally known as Throstle Nest, not sure the reason they've started calling it 'The Citadel'.

Yes they are, it was announced a few days ago, I was surprised they couldn’t find anywhere nearer tbh.

Did you ever go in the ‘social club’?

i know the question is aimed at someone else...

I went to the Huyton RL social club frequently, it was quite popular.

Apparently they were going to use Bradford PA but then some issue arose.

Do you know the reason for not accepting them?

The word on the street at the time was that there were objections from other clubs in the Greater Manchester area - maybe Swinton, Salford, others? - but I have no evidence to back that up.

All of the above and I remember visiting Huyton with York in the late 70s but didn't think it was as rough as Belle Vue, Doncaster.

I'd like to see London Skolars and Hemel Stags back in the semi-pro ranks to keep the game going below the Midlands.

Canal Street is one of my favourite ever grounds.

Use to go there when Widnes were away, and watched the Linnets as well.  Unfortunately it's a housing estate now. The football club now play near Murdishaw.

PSG and Toronto are the obvious ones, but both would be dependent on significant changes to their ownership model.

West Bowling ARLFC play there and it's an artificial pitch?

I believe there was an issue with Farsley Celtic and how the logistics of the agreement were made wasn't up to the league's standards.

And there's me thinking that there's a club called North Wales Crusaders plating in Colwyn Bay!

It’s not the same club.

Why does their own website say they were formed in 2012 then?

I think it's entirely understandable that the current owners wish to distance themselves as much as possible from the previous regime and 'start afresh' after liquidation and demotion. But it's the same club.
