I find myself in Rennes for the afternoon today where the locals have filled the main square on a national day of striking and protest.

When looking up what it was they're striking about I learned instead about The Great French Moustache Strike of 1907.

What makes it worse is that, if you've seen Mad Max 2, that was the area where this happened. What most Europeans would call a desert.
