Slow TV on BBC4 - last night, swimming through a reef with a sea turtle. Two more programmes today and tomorrow.

Grizzly bear cubs and Me on BBC2 is perfect christmas wildlife fair.  

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

This BBC remake of 'Watership Down' falls into an awkward gap. Neither as stylised or as well-voiced as the cartoon version, but not as well-animated as it should be with 21st-Century technology.

Not as catastrophic as the social media over-reactors would have you believe, but not really good enough.

The only thing I made a point of watching yesterday was the Upstart Crow Christmas special. Glad I did.

Probably get slated for it, but our main viewing of the day was Love Actually on Netflix. I know it's deeply uncool to say so, but I think it's a really good film; well written and well acted.

Call me a cynical materialis, but as soon as I heard rik Mayall had died, I went straight on Amazon to buy the 'Bottom' box set before the price went up.

BTW, Rik & Ade did 5 or 6 live 'Bottom' shows, which are all available in full on YouTube. Recommended, especially when they crack up and come out of character..

These celebs go on holiday or to some exotic location ( family member included as a nice bonus sometimes ) are a great lark . Get paid to show you what a great time they’re having at places you’ll probably never get to . No wonder there’s that many there must be a long queue !

I wouldn't fancy going on holiday with a camera crew following me round. I'm sure it's not as much fun as they make it look.

I haven't watched much telly over Christmas, only TOTP and the Queen on Christmas Day (it's a tradition), but I've recorded a fair bit, most of which I'm sure I'll never get round to watching. That's another tradition!

Being a Poirot super fan I’ve rewatched plenty of them and recorded the new ABC Murders . Im always a bit wary about seeing someone new do something you love , didn’t like Branaghs effort , but I’m looking forward to seeing what they’ve done with it . I taped and watched last night the brilliant programme on Ken Dodd, and I taped the one on Tommy Cooper . Guys like those and Eric Morcambe are still the best . Throw in Benny Hill and Dick Emery ,who tv repeats neglect , and I’m in

the ABC murders are the usual over acted dire affair you would expect to be offered up for xmas tv , what accent was the bald guy (assuming that's Poirot ) trying to do? French? Belgian? sarf africaans ? scouse?

I quite enjoy the worlds strongest man shows , but for some reason they fill in the shows with so much padding and only show  snippets of each event . If they cut  most of that out they could show everyone

My Dad has a Fire TV Stick, but usually forgets it is there. Tonight, however, we enjoyed a Victoria Wood Christmas special, before I introduced him to 'Inside No.9' for the first time. He liked it!

Currently watching John Betjeman's 'Summoned by Bells'.

We're working our way through the entire Inside No 9 back catalogue over the holiday period as they're all on the iPlayer. Brilliant stuff even though I've seen them all before at least once. Just finished "La Couchette".

I think there is some terrible writing (plenty of places online pulling it apart), and the acting from some very good actors is ropey to say the least.

But there is something charming and enjoyable about the film. We have watched it maybe 7 or 8 times over the years, and it seems to have crept up as a bit of a classic!
