Yes the American school thing was a bit odd, along with having people living in a trailer park. I suspect they did that for international accessibility.

It was quite a bit of fun and the characters were mostly lovable (especially Gillian Anderson and the plumber.... if ever there was a porn cliche)

Titans on Netflix is excellent, I watched the whole series in about 3days.

It’s dark in a Daredevil/Punisher style but with some genuinely interesting takes on the Superhero genre

I watched four episodes of Titans and was thoroughly enjoying it until I noticed that the new series of The Punisher was on Netflix. Currently binge watching that then I’ll go back to Titans.

The Marvel series’ writers just seem to have the edge over the DC ones.

I watched the first of the new series of The Grand Tour  yesterday. I'm not sure why as it was going rapidly downhill in the episodes of S2 that I watched.

What a load of old cack. Truly terrible.

End of review. I could rant for a page or two but I can't be arsed.

I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"

I fell asleep watching it on Friday afternoon.

I don't feel the urge to go back and watch the bits I missed.

The first episode of series 1 was very good, as was the Namibia trip. But there was a lot of filler even then. Shame because I do like the three of them and think that when they click they really do produce some excellent TV.

Caught the Led Zeppelin gig last night on sky arts , must have missed it when first shown .Tremendous stuff , played most of their best songs without all the over indulgence and stringing out that sometimes marred their gigs in their early pomp. Plants voice better than ever and Jason Bonham was every bit as good as his dad on the drums .

They shall not grow old on bbc2 now what an amazing film. It’s surprising how colour film can bring something  over 100 years old to life and almost like it could’ve been filmed yesterday.

Edited because real wasn’t the right word to use.

Das Boot a sequel on Sky Atlantic on Wednesday.

It seems it follows on from 9 months after the original finished.

Its nowhere near the original. Nice lesbian storyline in it though.

Right, for my sins, I've watched the first couple of episodes of series 2 of Star Trek: Discovery and it's ... good? I mean, doing some nice storytelling. Pacing is on point. The characters sound like proper characters. The writers and directors haven't taken *all* the cocaine and done an entire 10 series on in the five minutes before the credits ...

I'm assuming it all goes to plop from the next episode on because otherwise it's actually beginning to look decent.

Just experienced about 30 minutes of 'Valhalla Rising' on BBC2. Lots of filler, very little content, but the fashionably desaturated colour palette will probably make some people take this seriously and nominate it for awards. This is some seriously lazy, schedule-packing pabulum.

Never mind the quality, look at the length!

Well, that lasted until about four minutes into the next episode and we're back to tedious digression on Klingon politics carried out in Klingon ...

We've watched the first 4 or 5 episodes of 'You' recently and I'm really enjoying it. It is interested as you are really rooting for the cray guy, and want him to get with the girl he is stalking, as he has charm and despite some of the awful things he is doing he is really likeable. It's a really interesting show.

My better half suggested we watch "The Marvellous Mrs Maisel" after she was told good things about it at work.

I'm glad she did cos it's brilliant!

Which channel is that on please?

Ditto for me, I came on here after watching the first ep saying it had improved, but oh my god they've now gone back to being terrible. And now they're trashing Spock's character as well (killed 3 medical staff...).

I'm dropping the dross now as my sci-fi itch is definitely being scratched by the Orville, which now wins hands down for having two Billy Joel songs in an episode.

I didn't make it that far. I wasn't feeling great anyway last night so the nanosecond it became apparent we were going to be spending some considerable time with Klingon subtitles off it went.

I am now catching up with barking Korean drama Memories of the Alhambra. Which at least has the good grace to know it's nuts.

I can't get who they're trying to impress with this sort of twaddle.

Well, you're a unionite, your standards are already pretty low for a given value of "entertainment".
