Truth is the rfl have been trying to expand the game as long as I've been watching it. (50) years. It's never worked before and will only work if new teams are kept artificially afloat as in almost guaranteed promotion or worse cherry picked as in Catalans and London. Nobody is interested in watching a " new" club losing more than they win. Sorry if that sounds elitest but it's just a fact of life.

sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward

cheers that sort of statement makes us Raiders and other heartland clubs feel really appreciated....nice 1

You must appreciate that Toulouse NEED to go up, travelling to France at this level isn't feasible in the medium-long term.

AND if Barrow were playing a small Yorkshire town then the same comment would be made but Barrow being seen as the more needy!

Barrow are unlucky they peaked when promotion wasn't an option because otherwise they would be a good addition to SL!

However new clubs don't learn from the downfall of others....

They don't see that they need to spend 10 years spreading routes and building Amateur and Junior participation to feed into the top club.

GAG appear to be building slowly in the right direction...it's early days but they look like they will be a success story in years to come!

They can't afford to stay in league 1 and keep a semi pro team in England a quarter pro team in France and a under 20 team, and travel to England every two weeks, they need to get promoted to get bigger crowds and more money from the council,

Apparently players are paid more in some elite 1 teams than the toulouse players are without the travel,

Probably the biggest game in their history ?

Barrow have nothing to lose, TO have the quality but maybe not the nerve to get through this.

But how do you know they'll go bust? I would be very surprised if that was the case and am sure they would be back around again

Nothing against barrow but I'd like to see Toulouse win because they can have a bigger impact on growing RL both domestically in France and internationally with supplying more French players for the national team but whoever wins on the day will have deserved it and I sincerely hope that no goalposts will be shifted if the "wrong" team wins.
