That relationship didn't end well, in a way that reflects pretty badly on Eastwood.

"I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. Penny Cook, 61, cancer. She starred in many AUS TV shows which I didn't watch. Here she is playing second fiddle to the Wombat Fatso in A Country Practice.

I never watched the show although, in about 1990, I met the wombat at his home, Featherdale Wildlife Park.

Yes that’s incredibly sad . I remember when Andrew first broke there and she was always there supporting him . Terrible

Dame June Whitfield 93

Very fine comedy actress - she can finally get back to being the sensible one to Terry's pompous idiot in the great sitcom in the sky.

He was always way out of his depth playing alongside her.

As a kid I loved listening to Take It From Here with June, Dick Bentley and Jimmy Edwards. I have very happy memories of listening with my family to "The Glums"

Thankfully as I have grown older I am no longer plagued by people quoting "Eth" (June Whitfield) saying " Ooh Ron". To Dick Bentleys Ron.

Instead its " Da Do Ron Ron"!

I was thinking of June Whitfield the other day watching yet another re-run of carry on cruising, I don't know why as she was only in Carry on Nurse for a brief cameo. She had such a huge resume and worked alongside all the big names in British comedy from the 50s onwards.

I guess I first remember seeing her alongside Terry Scott in Terry and June as I was 10 when it started but there was so much before that that you have to find on YT etc.

very sad news.

RIP June, you brought joy and laughter to many

Anniversaries are sad. I understand how you feel. Loss of parents is very difficult.

I hope you are coping ok.

A good obituary.

This morning I read an interview with her in the Mail online. Then this evening I read in the same publication that she had died.

I used to watch her in Terry and June also.

June Whitfield was also in Carry on Abroad and had one of my favourite lines when Sid James was asking her if she smoked or drunk..'I tried it once and didn't like it'. Which inevitably led to asking about the children....'your only child I presume?' ?

A good actress who could play different roles, despite her seemingly always middle class wife ones in later years.

I was only watching that the other day . Sausage , beans and chippins , beans and chippins or sausage and beans ... where’s the foreign food ? This is foreign food , you don’t think we eat this rubbish . Peter Butterworth was always my favourite
