Should there be a Northern Hemisphere team in International rugby League?

I suspect that many people will be against becuase it is to artificial a creation, rather than a natural creation!

North Hemisphere v South Hemisphere match like in rugby union!

Your thoughts please

A ridiculous idea. Sports fans support nations, not hemispheres.

The RLIF would be well advised to devote its limited resources to building rugby league in genuine second tier nations like France, PNG, and Fiji, and perhaps even in the bogus second tier nations of Tonga and Samoa.

Interesting to ponder who could play for the NH with the Granny rules. You could pick a very decent side.

It wouldn't be international.

It would be interhemispherical.

We'd still argue about the coach

We'd still lose.

Then we'd want to sack the coach.

Then we'd lose again.

And no spectators would turn up anyway.

We'd d play at the wrong ground.

It would be on the wrong TV channel

The commentators would be useless.

Bernard Manning lives! Welcome to be New RFL, the sport's answer to the Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club.

Cool it Ratty! Just because some bloke on a forum suggests it, it doesn’t mean the IRL might adopt it!!!

With the Serbian/Lebanese/Italian/British/Irish diaspora in Australia plus ‘proper’ Brits and Frenchmen, it could be a competitive side.

yes.  usually played at Twickenham stadium in London!

I’m calling it.

No there is not. Certainly not in the form of the best northern hemisphere professionals vs the best southern hem’ pro’s.

I'm not saying I support this idea but, if we are talking hemispheres, there is the alternative of Western and Eastern Hemispheres.

Commonly, the former would include the Americas, plus parts of Western Europe and Africa.

Just when I thought the original idea could not be beaten for weirdness...

I don't think NH vs SH should be done but if we're sticking with GB every 4 years I think a Pacific Islands select could be used as opposition as well as Aus and NZ or maybe Anzacs (Aus/NZ combination) .

This would be sandwiched either side by a 4 N tournament involving the tier 1 nations

What about the earth versus the rest of the galaxy

Why confine it to space? How about the eternal? Did not Jesus need only 12 disciples to complete his Heavenly XIII? They have Judas. We have SBW.

Will Austin be there to drop balls on the wing?
