Bearman
My recycling bin has not been emptied. It was supposed to collected on Friday and the council advised us that there was some sort of dispute with the workers. We were told to leave our bins out and they would be collected either Saturday or Monday. This happened two weeks a go too. Funny thing is they never forget to collect my payment from the bank. Bob8
Village news: - The crows are loud, someone has called the council to complain - A grate near the cyclepath is missing again, so e careful! If someone complains about loud Crows in the UK, you can Guarantee they would be fixed under a protection order so you can't shoot them. The scavenging Gulls around Hastings are under a protection order, they hang around outside Greggs, and chip shops and attack anybody trying to eat, and you can't fight back because they have a protection order. I actually had the last bite of a Lamb Samosa stolen by one, as I went to kick the Gull a PSCO told me off (Yes, I know, shock treatment). Bleep1673
I don't know where to put this, but.. I was coming back from the shop, approximately 11.15 am this morning, when I noticed something above me, I looked over, and about 1/4 mile of the seafront & about the same above, was a Good-Year Blimp, heading East, wind behind it. It looked so elegant, so smooth, I just stood there & watched it for about 20 mins, dissappear. I did not have my phone or camera on me, which annoyed me. That's interesting Bleep but I think it would be best for all of us if you didn't skirt around the issue and just admit that what you saw was a UFO. No, the only Aliens that arrive in Hastings are on boats from France, and that's by accident. Non-terrestrial Aliens would do some research first. Bleep1673
What a stupid place to live. On a day like today, when the atmospherics are at their worst, I can't pick up Hastings local Radio Station, but I can pick up 10 French talk Radios.

Exiled Townie
From our local Herts Advertiser - "Don't go to pieces at the news that Harpenden is to hold it's first-ever jigsaw festival. The festival is taking place between August 27-30. Organisers have been overwhelmed by the support from the local community in donating and making up jigsaw puzzles and there will be well over 1,000 puzzles available to view and to buy over the three day festival", and before you laugh at the southern softies, the article ends "The original idea for a Harpenden festival came from one of the organisers seeing a similar event in Lancashire in 2019 and suggesting upon his return that our town might follow suit."
