I wonder if Mickey Mousekis will be awarded the Fev v Hull FC tie given the assumption he can't possibly make as bad a job of controlling the players as the last time these two met in the cup.

the last time FEV played hull in the 3rd found of the cghallenge cup at home  there were seven cards; three yellows to Featherstone players and three to Hull, before Faraimo’s red card seconds before full-time for an appalling challenge on Shaun Robinson. hull only had  nine players on the pitch at the end

No thanks. That’s the thing, you don’t betray trust like that.

No club has yet to mention any details about the home venue for their ties, so that validates what I’ve been told somewhat.

If trust was involved, you wouldn't have posted it on a forum

The Hull players got yellow cards for self defence. The referee should have been sacked for allowing some of the thuggery that went on that day, but the RFL do nothing to improve the standard of the officials.

You can apply to become a match official here, surely that will improve the standard

Take those tinted specs off.

You know, both teams were as bad as each other.

Worraboot the assault by Talipapa or whatever his name is on Shaul as he was waiting to catch a high ball. That sparked it all off if I recall correctly.

There was very little trouble in the first half until Hock and Connor started jawing off at each other right at the end of the half and it was simmering from then onwards. Taulapapa got his timing all wrong on that challenge and yes probably should have been sent off or at least sin binned for reckless play, but both sides were as bad as each other for the rest of the game, and Faraimo's assault on Robinson had far more malicious intent.

This. Very poor dealing with that incident led to anything going in the end.

Hopefully we'll be a bit smaller next time and not get sucked into it.

That was on a completely different scale to the tackle on Shaul.

Both clubs have different coaches now, and both clubs are probably better of squad wise too. Would expect Hull to beat Featherstone by 20 - 30.

I was there and Hull were dishing plenty out.

Just watched it again and it wasn't that incident that sparked off the niggle and antagonism. It happened early in the 2nd half and there was barely any other incident in the next 20 minutes or so (Luke Briscoe was sin binned for a professional foul/laying on about 15 minutes later but that was really just a technical offence).

What actually sparked the late aggro off was an incident involving Connor and one of the Fev players as Faraimo was racing 90 yards to score a breakway try. The TV cameras didn't capture what happened but the Fev players were incensed by whatever happened and were flying into tackles pretty recklessly as soon as the game restarted from the next kick off.

I was right behind the Taulapapa incident. It was horribly mistimed and he probably should have been sent off or at least binned but you are correct, it wasnt that incident that kicked off the trouble. Everyone seemed to acknowledge it was mistimed and get on with the game. The actual trouble started when Hull scored and Jake Connor ran past Tom Holmes laughing in his face and winding him up like Jake Connor does. It was a crucial try and this obviously rubbed Holmes up the wrong way who reacted to it. Again, it happened right in front of me but was probably missed by a lot who were naturally watching the long range try being scored. It escalated from there into a very niggly match.

Ref would have done well to bin those two and it probably wouldnt have carried on.
