When Cornwall played at Dewsbury, they were a very well-drilled, well organised side.

i'm ashamed to say, i've lost track. Who's coaching them now?

Cornwall RLFC & Truro FC get planning approved for the new stadium.
3k capacity initially, with a further 1k approved.

Clubhouse and other facilities will require further approvals - reason being to expedite the process to get the ground playable for Truro FC next football season in August. Work is already well underway for it and this was a rubber stamp of the Council agreeing it.

Great news for Cornwall RLFC to play in a brand new facility. The ground is being built so it could go up to 10k if required in the future, would require further planning apps to do so.

This is the location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/M184WSqdDgBAbSFWA

On the edge of Truro, with easy access to the major A-road.

What level of tenure do the rugby league club have in this project? Not much mention on this article. Thanks.

It's Truro FC that are stumping up some of the money with other partners. Hence no real mention of the RL side. It's been a big topic in sporting contexts down here for a long time and only a few weeks ago Cornwall RL had zero to do with it.

Truro FC were bought buy the Perez conglomerate a few weeks back and as such, Cornwall RL will play at the new ground. Not sure what the arrangements will be legally. Truro City: Canadian consortium takes over club from Kernow Sport - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/67546796

The initial stadium project was to be a home for FC and RU. But the new ownership structures and acquisitions mean RU will stay at Penzance in an small dilapidated ground under the old FC ownership. RL will be at the new facilities in a much better location when thinking about the local population numbers and where the money/corporate money is.

The first videos of the new stadium that Cornwall RLFC and Truro City will share.

Looks like it's well on track for the new football season starting. Initial plans are just for the basic ground to be there, given they've only had a few months to build so far.

Further plans to build the clubhouse/corporate facilities and youth/training facilities. Plus possible extension to the stands for further seats and standing capacity. So still lots more to be done yet, but positive initial steps.

There will be a main arena, with a capacity for 3,000 spectators and the potential to increase to 4,000, to be completed this year.

In terms of capacity it's not dissimilar to Penryn RU where they are playing now. Difference being (1) it's brand new and will be a bit nicer. (2) that Eric Perez and Co own the ground and football club now. So the cash stays in the same group of companies. Not sure what it means re. IMG points, mind.

That’s the key to being sustainable. How are Cornwall doing in relation to winning over the locals and encouraging kids to take up the game down there? Do they get into schools etc? How many community clubs are there in Cornwall?

Not sure but all that is a must and should be a top priority for the club if they want to have a long-term future in Cornwall.

Yep. Truro city used to be owned by the guy who also owns the Cornish Pirates RU club.

Perez and co bought the football club and left the RU club with the same guy. He's still trying to offload it and is struggling to.

The key (and critical bit) is that the football club came with the rights to build the ground and had a fair chunk of cash commited by the council/public bodies to do it. Hence a fair bit of soft power locally too.

The shrewdness of leaving the RU club could help project the RL side further forward.
