This thread currently comfortably outnumbering the CC final one, as befits the main event. Heck, on the Leigh fans' FB page there's even some poor soul obsessing about "Phantom Horseman from TRL". It's heartwarming, I tell ya.

Has the man said "there is no bad publicity" your reputation proceeds you Phantom.

Love Rugby league have done a "Dream XIII" comprised of the two 1895 Cup finalists, fans of both teams will disagree with some selections but this selection isn't far away and you'd certainly fancy it to give one or two SL teams plenty to think about...as you'd expect 12 of the 13 are overseas players (well in Jack Bussey!) but it's very difficult for Championship teams to acquire quality British players

Will this be a red flag to those who have missed out, for starters Aekins v Kheirallah, and I think that the best prop has been evicted being Mark Ioane, the Leigh pack is far far stronger when he is on the field, and on the Fev side I couldn't/wouldn't leave John Davis out of my team.

Ioane's been great every time I've seen him and yes I thought he was the most debatable Leigh omission. Kheirallah v Aekins is a very straightforward decision in my view.

John Davies is everyone's favourite "most underrated player" nominee in the Championship to the extent that i don't think he can be described as underrated any more. He is a tremendous player to watch though and the epitome of a fan favourite. For me though Craig Hall might be the debatable omission from a Fev POV.

I'm quietly in agreement.

I strongly suggest this game will be a learning curve for what is to come and both coaching teams will be watching the opposition as much as their own team, I really hope that your half's show our two up and it registers that we would be much better with fresh blood in those positions.

Only 3 hours till the programme starts, should I be feeling this giddy at my age?

I posted similar as a reply on leigh fb page. This game will give each club and indication of where the gaps need filling.....
