Shorrocks to Salford confirmed. Very good signing

Always been a big fan of Shorrocks. Massively underrated and played a big part in the season despite not making the 17 at the end of the year.

Really needs to play 13 regularly as it's by far his best position. He was unlucky this year that when he did get a chance to play there he was moved because Smithies was struggling to be effective at second row.

He's a really good ball player so he should suit an expansive style of play and his work rate in defence is exceptional.

Yeah, he was impressive at Leigh for the couple of games we had him, albeit at second row. Am sure Lam would’ve liked to have had him longer or permanently, but his chances of any real game time at loose forward for us would be limited next season while we have Asiata.

Bloody Hell, most Australian rugby league news sources are headlining “Matt Moylan is joining the Super League”. They can’t even use a clubs name, yet these are the same new sources who have the audacity to comment on the comparison between the 2 leagues.

Wests Tigers have made a really cool signing in Gordon Whippy.

21 year old front rower born and raised in Fiji, Came over to Aus a few years ago after being signed by the Raiders and he has been playing for Ipswich this year. In the QLD cup he has been a standout front rower and ended up debuting for Fiji last month.

I’d describe A Strong, Lanky front rower with a high work rate. A lot of potential, and really good to see more and more Fijian youngsters joining NRL teams.

Last year the Roosters had Vuate Karawalevu who is a superb player but unfortunately he was stolen by union.

So you think players struggling in the NRL never get a new lease of life in SL.

What do you expect from someone who’s persona is based on glib comments.

SL isn’t just full of struggling NRL players looking for another chance and often grasping it with both hands. It’s also increasingly a a place where they rebuild and successfully rejoin the NRL.

Entrance Tigers, *checks notes*  a club based in the Central Coast region of New South Wales who compete in the Central Coast Division Rugby League and NSWRL Presidents Cup Northern Conference.

I always liked Blake Austin. Was also happy he declared his allegiance to play for this country. It would not harm this country, if there were more players like him, that wanted to play for this country through heritage or was born here.

Happy he has found a club in Australia to play for. Best of luck to him. He has played for some well known clubs Canberra / Warrington / Leeds  and Castleford. Disappointed Castleford did not keep him, when he helped them so much in the relegation battle with Wakefield.

Shame he couldn't land himself a BARLA club...

I can't seem to understand Wigan`s transfer decision here. Morgan Smithes gone to Canberra, the logical choice is shorrocks to replace him. Instead they let him leave for SRD.

There have been a few players that they have let go. Two now at SRD / one at Wire / one at Leeds. There have been constant reports of Peet being a great coach and all the academy guys enjoy playing for him, but this is now 4 players from the academy that have gone. The mystery of transfers decisions in Super League continues. Totally flabbergasted by this. Great buy for SRD though.

Jason Tali re-signs for Dons. Takes current squad to 24. Might not be first choice but a great servant to the club so deserves to finally be in a championship squad.

Has the chance to break the clubs tryscoring record too.

Uele is a good signing for Trinity

He wasn’t far off the Cronulla NRL squad and has been outstanding for a couple of years now. Huge bloke too, not just tall but proportionately big with a good engine. Be interesting to see how he goes over here in the Championship but I think him and Renouf Atoni will be a good interchange pairing giving the opposition little respite from some brutal physicality
