To be fair, someone on the rlfans forum scored Trinty with attainable targets at 14.7 for next year so I would imagine it would not too hard for the clubs above us to be pushing for an A. Leigh if they continue as they have for one. Huddersfield really ought to be there too.

You are absolutely right. The split between team 12 and team 13 may be 0.25 points, which is surely within any margin of error, but the financial consequences could be catastrophic for the team ranked 13.

Especially when there is an element of marking your own homework in some areas of the grading. A few clubs have said they’ve had no direct contact with IMG never mind any sort of audit of what they submitted. Easy to manipulate your score a little bit if nobody is checking what you submit.

Has anyone managed to work out how Salford score so highly???

Decent on field, good ground but poor utilisation, low fan base, poor socials, poor financials, can't pay their rent...

How is this worked out?

Probably high on:

- finances, based on selling players and the fans scheme, turnover, profit and owner investment will all have been effected giving a very healthy score.

- catchment,  1.5 points, just for been based in Manchester.

- on field performance will be decent.

- staduim will be fairly good, except utilisation and won't have the tenure points.

Building solid, sustainable clubs with robust business plans will enable to game to secure more investment, and ultimately provide a better sport on the pitch.

If we get 20 grade A's with a much improved TV deal and more eyeballs on the game, P&R can come back and IMG's job is done.

All makes sense, but there's absolutely no chance this happens when a sport doesnt value the product on the pitch as the main element.

All this IMG shambles is doing, is alienating large number of existing fans. It’s a shambles and needs stopping.

Would agree on all but finance.

Can't pay their rent, rely completely on central distribution, the kind of finance report Bulls would be proud of.

Nil points on this one!

I'd love to see the breakdown's of these scores to see how Toulouse scored so highly.

Don't hold your breath for that level of transparency!  It's becoming quite clear the sham is a way of the rfl moving the parts where they want them imo.

Finance at the point of submission though, a 400k - 700k boost (from selling players and a share scheme) will make it all look rosy (for a short period....)

I doubt the money from Croft and Ackers will be in place yet so that will help with the actual gradings.

The player sales aren't income on a balance sheet.

The "share scheme" is a one-off, so yes, agreed, gets them through the short term.

But only the short term. Which doesn't count.

Salford going bust is Castleford's best hope of staying in SL.

The funny thing is, is that what he posts is factually desirable/the overall aim for the sport, and you think it's a joke!

Until the game aspires to that goal and actually acts on it (maybe we are doing now), then we'll never progress the sport.

And you think the clubs didn't already know what makes them better/bigger ? , that more people through the gates = more money , better sponsorship = more money , more merchandise sales = more money
