Given Lisa Nandy, Wigan MP is Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport of the United Kingdom, and given  Starmer is currently in Samoa for the Commonwealth Conference, and given that the Samoan Rugby League team is in Wigan on Sunday, does the team think that there could have been an opportunity to  get some mileage for the sport, even if it were just Starmer wearing an England shirt (free gift but declared) at the conference dinner?

It's a shame the PM isn't handing King Charles a Samoa shirt with Luai 6 on the back of it. That would be fun.

That's EXACTLY the sort of thing that should be happening.

Yeah, just checked, I`m gutted, FFS , stunned. Hadn`t even thought about Scheck, worth watching for that alone.

Yeah mate I don`t expect you to go to too much trouble but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, we`ll watch it on our laptops if necessary.

I guess Kayo finally listened to the fans. It's on kayo now so I hope Sky sportsnz shows the game too especially with the number of samoans in nz

Well done to you and all the people who kicked up a stink and got them to put in on. Great news, you`ve made my day.

I was joking about the line up announcement before the players run out onto the field but it's looking likely at this point ffs

The English can dawdle and sap the enthusiasm with inaction but I would have hoped that Samoa would have showed the way and announced their team on Thursday.

The game is 2 and a half days away surely it comes out today. The samoan coach already confirmed in an interview today that Luai is playing halfback and RTS is the fullback. I better wake up tomorrow morning with teams line up on the news feed 😂

Yeah, I'm not sure of the issue. Maybe if we had an interested media we'd be having discussions now on who may get those three quarter slots, or who will be halves like you would in soccer, but I think the way of announcing squads and teams feels fine.

Apart from the godawful presentation of it through alphabetical order, or whatever system is chosen this year.

Out of interest, if you are OK with the game day teams not being named until close to kick off and a 19 man extended squad being announced, how would you present the squad if you are not using alphabetical order?

If only we had some sort of strategic partnership with an International Marketing Group who specialised in this sort of thing....

Would you wear an Oxon shirt at a bash like that?

The post is about the lack of publicity about the England v Samoa series. As a Tag Rugby Player, we've been offered tickets at £12 for each game, so they must be desperate.

Nothing to do with IMG. In any case, I was asking the question of the forums world-renowned and highy-qualified marketing specialists.

It just seems to be such an obvious thing and something that would build anticipation the week into the game if the 17s were named on Wednesday or Thursday.

Back on thread now. Hopefully there’s a surge in the next couple of days so there’s a respectable crowd there

Without squad numbers, I quite like positions. As a minimum backs and forwards.

I know we disagreed on squad numbers for the WC but where we have them that should be used. Warrington do alphabetically and when you eyeball it there is no natural reading of who is missing when done alphabetically for example.

Forwards and backs would work I suppose.

You can't announce the 19 man squad by position if you are not announcing the team because by putting them in position you are announcing the team.

They don't stand. Five-eighth is a far better name for the 6.

We invented the game.

1.Northern league/Rugby league (Not Football)

2.Stand off(Not five-eighth)

3.A game of Rugby league is two half's (Not Stanza)

4.A "9" is a Hooker(Not a rake)
