I impress myself sometimes. Teams call on the laptop, one eye on the TV sport and typing away on Total RL on my mobile.

I deserve a raise!

It's a handy example to abstract in an interview when you are talking about your ability to multi task and juggle and prioritise your workload.

Okay, first let us know what equipment you are using.

Do you have a Fire TV Stick, Roku or Chromecast plugged into the TV?

and

Do you have an Android or Apple smartphone?

Depending on the TV, you may be able to find and install the app directly. However, some TVs have a deliberately limited choice of available apps.

More likely option - if you install the SL+ app on your phone, look for the "cast" icon, then switch on the TV and see if you can connect to it.

Third option - a smart TV usually comes with a built-in internet browser. Log in to the SL+ website, bookmark the site and when a video's playing, use the TV remote to select the full screen option. Fiddly, but it works.

If the tv doesn't have a cast function, personally I'd invest the £35 or so for a chrome cast.

You can also install the SL+ app directly onto a Chromecast and operate it with the remote. You can't do that with WatchNRL, for some reason.

They're a bit more expensive (but in my opinion worth every penny), but both SL+ and WatchNRL have native apps on the AppleTV box. 👌🏼

Rather than a separate thread I thought I'd put this here, NSWRL TV:

£25 a year isn't bad for the NSW Cup, which is arguably as good a standard as SL.   I don't think I'll go for it though as I won't find time to watch that much RL in addition to all the SL+ matches.

Very arguably, as in completely wrong.

Horses for courses.   I quite like it, as it's fast and you get to see some really explosive backs.   Maybe it's the refereeing or the better weather that helps swing it for me.

It must just be me then, but here's one from the early rounds:

I hate this trope. Reserve grade NRL is not better or even as good quality as Super League.

Finally signed up and got the app working in the UAE. I understand sky have first refusal on the big games - so in round one the Hull Derby is on delay - but is that only for UK subscribers? When i look at the upcoming fixtures it has the hull derby on at the right time on the right date. I'm hoping for us who don't have sky as we're not in the UK don't have the sky games on delay... anybody know anything on this?

I think the Sky delay is only in the UK yes, elsewhere its at the same time.

Anyone know if any of the Super League games will be shown in Australia and if so on what medium. Last season we got all Sky televised games and the Championship Monday game. I spoke to someone at Foxtel and they say they are not covering any games this year. Disappointing.

Aaaaaarrrrrgggghh! If true.

EDIT - just looked up Foxtel RL channel and there are no SL games scheduled that first week.

no streaming of the app in AUS, US and Canada

This is usually because someone already owns the broadcasting licence unfortunately.

I understand the issue of licensing.

But does anyone know what has changed this year from the last 10 years or so?

No idea, perhaps the license holder has decided not to show them.

Does anyone know by what sorcery someone living in Australia can watch SL games this year that are shown on SKY?

P.S. I can watch the BBC games via a VPN.

Kayo will presumably continue to have the two main Sky Sports games, if not all 6?

Foxtel had the rights and showed the games on Fox League 501, so it's down to them. With a 24/7 RL channel to fill, you'd think they'd be happy for more non-repeated content.

Sorry if it’s already been covered, but does anyone know who the commentary team will be on superleague+ or are we still waiting for that to come out?

Since Woods has gone to Sky to join some well-known others, I guess the SL+ will have to mop up what’s left. However, you never know, they might unearth a gem who’s fairly new to the game but prepared to put the work in to be successful. Fingers crossed.

Or maybe they could just synchronise Andrew Voss remotely via satellite. That would be a treat.
