Halifax Panthers 26-0 up against Hammersmith at half time.  Have to say, that's a pretty fair effort from the Southern Conference side.

Finished Halifax 50 Hammersmith 4.

As I say, that's a good effort for me.

Could be a disasterous game for Fax losing 3 of our players with possible season ending injuries in Calcott(Broken Knee cap), Crooks(Broken Foot), OBrien(Possible torn bicep) and as someone on the Fax forum has just noted, it leaves us unable to name a 21 man squad before the season has even started properly.

Just now, The Blues Ox said:

Bradford look pretty powerful but are clearly lacking quality in the halves. Widnes have defended well and probably look a touch more dangerous with the ball in hand. Good contest so far just feeling like Widnes may run out of steam late on.

May have a better contest on a bigger pitch. Creating gaps is a bit of an issue at Odsal ain’t it

Smart kick from Gilmore. 8-6 Widnes.

I admit I'm a bit surprised.

Bradford dominating territory & possession, but not offering much in terms of creativity to make an actual break. Widnes defending very well near the line, but a bit lucky to get some points on rare forays into the other half. Our defence of the high ball on the last tackle looks pretty sketchy - not sure that standing back and simply allowing Bradford to regather is the best tactic.
