Not a very big crowd yesterday but a couple of dozen Barrow fans made it into the posh seats.

Barrow did well to capitalize against the 12 men when Belmas was binned, but TO did well to come back from 4-16 to win 38-16.

On a side note: what's with the Georgia Stanway chants aimed at OAB? Couldn't quite make out the detail where we were. It looks like he picked up another leg injury.

Weird game kiggy, TO were hopeless for the first 30 minutes but grew in confidence with the help of  some basic errors from Barrow. They never looked in trouble after the early second half try. I thought Shorrocks had a big game. Eloi recalled after having  been dropped looked lively when he came on for a less than convincing Gahan.
Impressed with Ramon Silva and Matt Costello for Barrow.  Didn’t know this but apparently Mike Ogunwole is a soldier on the Army specializing in bomb disposal !!!

I'm not sure TO were that hopeless, I think Barrow were very good.for the 30mins. Once Lambert came back and they got that try, Barrow imploded a bit and gave the game to TO. Kicking out on the full twice on the restart gave TO too much advantage. 3 quick tries and there wasn't going to be anything other than a TO win. Jake had a good game too, nice to see some smiling banter with the Barrow faithful when they were giving him some helpful "advise" when he was kicking from the touch line. Good to see.

I expected Sita to be back as we bumped into him last week at Pont d'Espagne of all places and he said he was going to be OK. Maybe another week and he will be up and firing for Widnes next week.

Widnes 28 Whitehaven 28 FT

Absolutely cracking game. Widnes dominated possession and territory for pretty much the whole game, but Haven got 3 length of the field tries, plus a great solo try from Maizen from a scrum move and were never behind at any point.

Whitehaven worked really hard throughout and defended their line superbly, clinging on for dear life for the last 20 minutes in particular. Jake Maizen caused problems for Widnes every time he had the ball.

Well played Swinton. Very inventive, intelligent, and near error free game of rugby, really made Trinity work for that and 46 - 22 flattered us. Maybe a hang over from the semi-final but I wouldn't want to discredit the opposition.  Fundamentally they have been the best team I've watched us against this season.

"Cough, a pedant writes Widnes led 16-12 for about 90 seconds just before half time, cough". That said would have took a point when Whitehaven ran in the second length of the field intercept for 16 -28. If we had snatched it at the death it would have been an injustice to Whitehaven. A perfect example of why there's no need for golden point. Both teams deserved something from the game. Oh, and I wouldn't say no to Jake Maizen at Widnes.

Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.

Best Haven side I've ever seen at Widnes.

Thought the second try by Haven was a pure delight.

We could've won in the last minute, but dropped the ball.

Fair result.😀
