Whilst obviously I’m disappointed Wigan are returning to the top of the table this evening, I take a lot of solace from the thought that Hull FC have spent this season recruiting Leigh’s players… so next year might be as enjoyable as this one 🤣🤣🤣

Good job i am not a video ref i would have given that as a try.No separation just before grounding.

Aside from the separation that was the reason for it being overturned?

If he'd dived on it with his forearm it would have counted, right? Is the issue because he had had control and so it's a knock on unless he regains control? Genuinely not sure of the correct interpretation. Or maybe he thought there was clear and obvious separation of the ball from the forearm, enough to overturn the on field decision.

Isn't contact with the forearm sufficient?

If the player has lost control of the ball - i.e. separation of the ball from the hand/arm, then it isn't enough to make contact with the ball again, you need to clearly regrip it before grounding.  The player didn't and so the try was chalked off.

Unfortunate but a correct call.

No separation in the last six inches his wrist was in contact with the ball.

If it comes out the hand it has to be re-gripped. It came out the hand and he didn't re-grip the ball, that's why it was overturned.

So you're saying that it wasn't separation from the hand that was the issue, but separation per se? Fair enough if that's what he saw. Seemed harsh to me but not a massive issue in the context of the game.

Improved second half but much too late. Though the McIntosh no try was harsh considering the on field call. Separation from the upper forearm was clear but the low frame rate cameras meant the hand area was a blurry mess and I don’t think there was necessarily conclusive evidence there. Not that it really made a difference but I think the attack in the second half deserved more than 6 point.

If that is the interpretation i can see why it was not given.

Nsemba is a cracking player he is so strong. Wigan were far too good for leigh, but Leigh are still great to watch when they throw the ball. It shows how strong wigan are even without French & Field.

Moylan should not have played. Made a mockery of a quality player so the coach to blame for that.

Too much respect. Leigh wont learn.

Dreadful selection given how obvious it was that he wasn’t fit to play. Second time this season we’ve put a second rower in the halves while there are two hookers on the bench as well.

I've had the Olympics on.

Did Wigan snap out of their recent sloppy malaise, or were Leigh undercooked?

That was my take as well. Frustrating when Thaler said there wasn’t enough evidence to overturn because of the blurry mess in a similar situation against Huddersfield the other week.

I don’t think the technology is good enough to have a video ref to be honest

That's not a sin bin. Off the shoulder and slipped up to the neck. No real risk. Really hard done to.

Mind you, we've just been robbed of a try from that penalty call for offside.

Thought the sin bin was a harsh call but the warning signs were already there before the yellow

Its crazy the difference between the cameras used for RL vs the ones for other sports by sky. The frame rate isn't good enough to provide good coverage for VRs. The technology is there, sky just don't use it for RL coverage.

Wigan won't score 5 easier tries all year. Leigh really struggled with the short turnaround and Moylan played the first half still carrying a rib injury and was terrified of contact so was waving Wigan through on every line break.
