So we’ll play against Australia who will be wearing one of the most iconic kit designs in RL which has barely changed in it’s design for its existence.

And we’ll be playing in a 1979s rip off football kit with some weird added Vs on the sides, that looks like an advert for betting.

great.

That's fine. Some like it, some don't. There's no right or wrong.

great.

Indeed.

But it's appropriate for our national team to have no continuity in design given most SL clubs have opted for random as a design choice.

I really like the 1980-82 England football kits. So it would seem do most England fans, as they are regularly voted as one of the best England football kits ever.

The England rugby league kit is much fussier and has a sponsor across the front, which automatically makes it a lot worse (nothing personal against Betfred).

Just bring back the Lions and the greatest rugby league jersey of all time.

Odds on them bringing out an 'away' shirt like this?

Poor old Paul Mariner's been given a knock-off kit bought on holiday at a market in Turkey. No maker's logo or second white line across the chest. Poor lad.

I noticed that as well! Very dodgy!

Touche, Im not up on my football kits.

Me neither when it comes to modern day football kits but these kits are iconic and when I had an interest in football.

Pretty much but I’d say more of an early 1980’s rip off England football kit.

Yes that's what they were aiming for, but they've missed badly.

It's just a poor design, full stop. Where's the aesthetic coherence between the horizontal shoulder elements, and the totally unrelated 'arrow' design in the side panels? It's like they let the work experience kid loose on their graphics application, and they picked some parts from about 3 different templates and stuck them together. That's alright for some 15 year old doing a week in the office before their Design Technology GCSE, but I'm not sure it's any way to run an apparel business 🤣

I see the "keep adding bits of red to the blue until it's effectively a Great Britain kit" idea is in progress. Not that I have an issue with it. I await the lion head making an appearance.

England Lions.

Ah, those long gone times when we used to have sponsors. Halcyon days!

Possibly I'm missing a whoosh here, but the new shirt seems to be sponsored by Betfred and ABK beer.

Betfred is Fred Done saying “if you can’t sell it, I’ll pay you £250k to not have to embarrass yourselves with a blank shirt” and ABK don’t even sell beer here.

250k? That's optimistic!

Classic example of “less is more”

I agree, great kit.

The Lion emblem is beautiful. Just smack that thing on an all white, or all red jersey and call it a day.

They don’t sell it where? I’ve seen it on sale a fair bit.

lions head badge.. if you must tweak it from year to year you can add some blue or red to the colour or piping or a side panel if you must but I would be happy if the decision was generally made to just go all white..
