That is a beauty to kick them off

2005 was my favourite Rhinos SL kit

Was going to say is it a 2005 copy!

Certainly very very good from Oxen by the looks of it, very smart. I wonder if they will keep making copies of old kits as we go with 3 shirts a year (its called the principal shirt for example).

Comes around sooner every year...

Thinking in comparison with football, I know quite a few high profile clubs will release their next year's home shirt for their final home game of the current season, sometimes even play in it.

Given Friday will likely be the last big crowd at Headingley for nearly 4/5 months it's a decent sales idea I guess.

I'd honestly automatically relegate them for such behaviour. Frankly, I consider it a crime we should still have the death penalty for.

Dug out my original 2005 shirt - it highlights how much the quality of replica shirts (at Leeds at least) has deteriorated since the 00s.

The Patrick version is of a far better quality the new ones are just basically printed polyester tshirts with a collar

I'm sure we could dig out an old thread from 2004 complaining that the amber hoop is too high...

Probably:-)

its quite traditional for the amber hoop to be that high, see watersplash challenge cup shirt as an example

Great jersey. Arguably better than the traditional version with the amber bands round the middle. Certainly helps the main sponsor.

Sense of foreboding though. Calm before the storm. Guided by precedent, something exceptionally vile will replace it next year.

Does it never occur to SL clubs (apart from Saints) that indefinitely retaining a popular classic home jersey might be the best way to build their brand?

Roosters are a template. They don't change the basics of their home and away jerseys. Doesn't prevent them selling lots of other merch, including heritage models. Plus there are numerous RL Roosters dotted around Oz and further afield, similarly attired, all effectively promoting the NRL club in Sydney.

After the 2004 and 2005 kits were reprised in 2024 and 2025 the 2006 one is waiting just around the corner in all its miserable depravity.

Great Britain  kit?

Nice to see that the new kit will be a 2 year thing. That also suggests that GB are not returning next year.
