Pity he didn’t show that kind of commitment when he played for the Knights, genuinely pleased for Donny for what they have done this season, it is a big step up from League 1.

Seems to love it here. Really popular on and off the field. After we signed him I was worried he wasn't up to it. Couldn't have been more wrong he's been outstanding. Thanks for your kind words.

2663 at Widnes. Nearly constant rain, with both teams not creating anything, and a ref who baffled both sides. Possibly worse than the Fev game couple of weeks ago.

York slightly better, and that was good enough for the win.

Our season is in danger of petering out.

Dewsbury acquitted themselves well, but Halifax had too much for them overall.

Ed Barber won MOM, even though every time he got tackled he reached back and placed the ball behind him and led the Shay in a chorus of Swing Low Sweet Chariot pre-game.

The difference being Dewsbury had a team of players we could afford and Halifax had a team they couldn't afford.

As a bloke I think he is top notch, whenever we spoke to him after a match, home or away he always had time and was so polite and never refused a selfie, like I said it is a pity we didn’t see the best of him on the field for whatever reason, he did pickup a couple of injuries and his tackling technique didn’t go down to well with some of the officials, it is good that has found a good home at the Dons.

Totally agree. It was a bit of a mess all round. Some weird decisions by the ref for both sides. York got one chance and took it and Widnes didn't.  Nothing really happened. Massive win though for York and they are the side with real momentum going into the play-offs. Got a lot of players coming back as well but still won with the the kids today. York aren't there yet but if they do get play-offs they are definitely a dark horse to do something special.

York will have a tough game next week though, looking forward to seeing them at Belle Vue.

Good win for Swinton Lions today. Last double over Featherstone was 1962/3 season. Great effort

Swinton were superior to Fev in every aspect of the game, no complaints from me about that result

As stats go Ian, thats a hell of a one.

This is the random Dons one from today.

Today marks the second time in the clubs history that the Dons have nilled a side twice in a season.
The first time was in the 1980/81 season, when the Dons won twice against Blackpool Borough, with scores of 2-0 and 6-0.

Batley were also the first club held to nil by Doncaster in the 1951 season

Wakefield 60-6 Whitehaven FT

Appreciative applause from all in the stadium when Whitehaven score on 78 minutes.

How condescending. 🙄

That may or may not be so, time will tell. Today though, i saw one of the worst ever teams I've seen in Dewsbury. They were downright awful. 🙄

It really wasn't!

Every Haven effort was warmly acknowledged, and the Haven players took a lap at the end of the game and were met with a chorus of "Haven, Haven...".

See the Kyle Amor after match interview where he states that the money raised/gifted by Wakefield and their fans, means that they are financially safe for the rest of the season.

What did you do for Rugby League today?

Don't judge Wakey by the standards of your tiny little sham of a club.

I'd suggest maybe not pi***** off people who could be donating to your club might be a sensible idea...

Wakey have more than done their bit throughout the Championship and have earned many friends and allies.

Matt Ellis has played a blinder and the fans have travelled in big numbers all year.

You'll miss us x

Well, if you're still there next year.

Whatever, but the truth is Wakey are doing fine right now and have a bright future. How are things at Halifax these days ?

Condescending my harris. Those 15 guys from Haven gave it their all today against overwhelming odds. Their efforts were rightly appreciated by the crowd and the majority applauded to show this.

They could have quite easily put their feet up and buggered off home when the trouble came out, but they've actually pulled off some interesting results in the time since. Wish them all well.

What I saw was a bunch of 15 part time players with no chance of winning giving everything for the full 80 minutes and were rewarded with a score at the death.

It wasn't condescending in the slightest. I don't think I'll ever see such warm applause for an opposition score and team as I did today.

Very much agree with the summaries everyone has posted. I thought York worked very hard in defence the whole game and really looked like a team that desperately want to be in the play-offs. Good linespeed throughout, intelligent lateral movement, good pressure on the kicker, good scrambling when needed, handled all the different things that Widnes tried without much difficulty. Results in other games with Fev and Sheffield losing help York too.

Big win for us yesterday! With Fev & Widnes slipping up, that gives us breathing space from those below us and should see us finish minimum 3rd (bar a typical Bulls implosion) unlike last year we're getting players back for and fresh for the play-offs.

I'd be disappointed if we lose any of our final games. Batley (H) always game, but just seem to lack quality and looks like their season just petering out. Halifax (A) this was the one that worried me,  but with them now all but safe and their financial issues, I think they'll be less motivated than usual to get one over on us. Swinton (H) be a tough game as they're fighting for survival and have taken some huge scalps this year.  But we should have enough motivation of our own to get the win.

Will just have to hope Widnes beat Toulouse at home as can't see them losing to Fax or Batley at home.

Infact imagine if Wakey had been unlucky and instead of getting someone like Matt Ellis they ended up with a bunch of jokers who have little idea what they are doing and broke numerous promises like Halifax did. Its amazing how much luck can play in a teams fortunes over the short term.

We've had our jokers too, a couple last season, but our luck has changed. However we are not alone in that fact, the majority of SL have the same luck, best example is Huddersfield.
