The Voodooguru Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Looking forward to this game more than ever. Should be a really good game and a good crowd. If we play like we did in the first half against barrow we will win handily, but if we don't it could be a close game although I have no idea of the standard of a lot of the players they signed. No doubt the pitch will be like a premier league pitch as usual. 10 - 34 final score. UTT The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!
homeandawayer Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I'd be gutted if we didn't get a fairly comfortable win. I don't know the plethora of lads they've signed but can't see them being any better than the ones we picked up, then add in a couple of experienced backs who didn't play at Barrow and we should be too strong as long as we snuff out Burns and Brennan. It's looking like a dry end to the week so at least it should be a decent game. 1
Unicorn 106 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I’m sure they were confident of winning it last season, a league above and a much better squad. Anything can happen in these games, especially on the wrecks billiard table like surface. 3
Town Army Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Expecting a tough and tight game, with not much in it either way. Think they will be fired up from the very start, especially the ex Townies so really need to keep them on the back foot along with Kellet, Holgate Etc. Will be happy with any win. 2
townie88 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Going to make for a good game. Town have assembled a squad worth getting excited about. And equally, it will be good to see all the lads from the community game step up. There will be alot of lads on show from the amateur game that will spend the rest of their playing careers servicing one of the cumbrian sides no doubt. I'm sure it will br a bumper crowd as well 2
Derwent Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Nice if we get the win, not the end of the world if we don't. The only thing that really matters to both clubs is the number through the gate and the share of the £s generated. No injuries and a share of a decent gate first and foremost, anything after that is a bonus. 4 I’m not prejudiced, I hate everybody equally
wonky Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Totally disagree about it not really mattering if we win. A win builds confidence and put us into the season on the front foot with a little bit of momentum. We should be far to strong for them all over the field, town by 24 1 the futures bright, the futures blue and white
havenhater Posted January 15 Posted January 15 There is no such thing as a friendly in the derby however with the amount of switches in the personal this year it's going to be hard to know which players to cheer and boo over the 80 minutes for both teams including the coaches. But yeah a good 80 minute blow out with no injuries or suspensions for both teams. 2
Town utd Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I'm hoping for a good game, hope both teams show up well,we need town and haven in the championship with all 3 cumbria teams in same league. 7

Hate the rec Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Haven fans very confident of a win on their forum, I will be happy with a one point win but seeing both teams in action against Barra and with more experience and quality to add I would expect town to have to much for them , but it's a derby and anything can happen, I didn't expect to win last year against their experienced team but we did, a good crowd and a decent payout for both clubs will be great, good to hear town are supervising the gates we don't want any funny business going on do we. UTT 3
Hate the rec Posted January 17 Posted January 17 No Will Evans or Ross Ainley in Sundays squad, is Ross injured? UTT

Unicorn 106 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Won’t be visiting the wreck tomorrow, in fact I wouldn’t attend if we had to win there to win the league and haven were bottom of the league. It’s a shame as I used to enjoy our away days there, can’t be arsed at my age having to put up with plastic young haven fans coked up and wanting bother. Best of luck boys UTT 3 1 1

Hope not Hope he's not out long, from what i've read he cemented his place in his first year then became a top performer last year so should be hitting his prime now. It's a position we can cover and a while until the season proper starts. 2
pmac Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I'm led to believe 9 wins to Whitehaven and town 8 since 2006.
