In other news, bit of a mish mash locally in terms of what is restarting and what isn't. Looks like the Isthmian won't be because of filthy Kent.

Just looked this up because it's weird but ...

Despite qualifying for the World Cup as hosts, Qatar are playing in the Asian confederation qualifying as those matches also act as qualification for the 2023 Asian Cup.

Locally, Hastings (men) are kicking up a fuss as they voted to resume the season whereas all the smelly, diseased people in Kent voted not to. Looks like we may be having some kind of mid season 'friendly' cup to keep the natives from getting too restless.

Assuming the weather doesn't get it called off, I'll be actually at a game tomorrow: Eastbourne Town v Leyton Orient in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the FA Women's Cup.

I guess they want competitive games to play rather than a series of friendlies.

I think there’s a precedent for it in European qualifying too.

Unfortunately I can’t remember which team it was (possibly France) played in a qualifying group despite hosting the World Cup (or was it the Euros).

Yes, I remember they were the sixth team in Portugal's group in the Euro qualifyers for Euro 2016.

They played as if they were part of the group but no points were awarded in their games, which were classed as friendlies.

I'm the fairest of fairweather bantams but I don't see how Bradford can turn it around unless the other teams around them start being just as poor.
