Pick an alternative England team.

Ok, so we have one of the regular 'pick an England' threads running which is obviously full of players who have been there and failed or youngsters from the big clubs who Sky have told us are the next real deal, obviously this is swallowed by most while suggestions of players playing well for lesser talked about or successful clubs get dismissed and ridiculed even though they may be as good or if not better than their 'big club' counterparts,

So here's a challenge, pick and England side NOT containing players from Wigan, Wire, Saints or Leeds. Let's see how good rugby league fan's wider knowledge of the player pool is!

Bear in mind this is an alternative and a bit of fun, obviously we KNOW that every player who has a decent couple of games from the removed clubs will be selected anyway i just wanted to see what people's thoughts are without them...

Off you go.

Sky never talk up Wakefield's Tom Johnstone at all. Not ever. The fulsome praise heaped upon Leroy Cudjoe before Huddersfield's match last week? We all imagined it, in some bizarre mass hallucination. Hull KR - I haven't seen enough of them since lockdown ended. Cas - plenty of talent that gets rightly praised.

Hull FC? Erm... okay. But when they do start playing well this season, we'll no doubt see some English players being part of it. :kolobok_wink:

So in other words you don't know anyone from the other 8 clubs you think could be good enough to represent

I think your opening post comes across as negative and your idea is a good idea for a thread but people are looking at the negative in your OP

You haven't even suggested a team yourself?

Ruling out any players from Wigan, Warrington, Sts& Leeds

I’m also going to avoid players who’ve had a number of England caps before such as Sarginson etc.

so:

Evalds- Salford

Davies - Catalan

Griffin - Hull FC

Wardle - Huddersfield

Farnworth - Brisbane

Gaskell - Huddersfield

Atkin - Salford

Mullhern - Hull KR

McShane - Castleford

English - Huddersfield

Holmes - Castleford

Ashurst - Wakefield

Abdul - Hull KR

Subs:

Richardson - Castleford

Livett - Hull KR

Sutton - Canberra

Massey - Castleford

Wasn't to meant, it was just to see how aware most of us are about players we don't always hear about or see.

Same! I'm a Leeds fan and bar an in form Gale and maybe newman I'm not sure who would be close to a first choice england shirt. Plenty in an alternative/Knights team though.

Yes, only the 4 'big super league clubs' are excluded.
