nice, needs a splash of blue though

This design was shared by Espana XIII last year. Cant imagine this design/colour scheme is the best way to appeal to the natives in Barcelona 🙂

Could you be a bit more specific/constructive in your criticism?

What is it that you don't like?

It's a functional site that I've had no trouble buying from in the past. It doesn't really seem any different to other online shops.

Can you post links to other SL clubs' sites that meet your criteria so that we can compare and contrast?

If you really want me to.

You have numerous images of players in various settings (pitch side, changing room, studio), in all different proportions, some imagery shot on mannequins (but not cut out), some on mannequins in the club store, some shot as flat lays, some shot on hangers, some with just sketches and even some with no image at all. You also have kids product with an image of an adult girl wearing an adult product.

Much of the product is clearly straight out of a bag also, and hasn't been steamed or pressed.

You also have a headline image featuring the team wearing product from a supplier (ISC) they no longer work with.

It's just a bit shabby. And with a little bit f care and attention could be much better presented.

Other clubs may well be just as shabby, or worse, but thats no excuse. Compare and contrast with the best such as Nike and Adidas, that should be the aim in terms of presentation.

If Wakey generate loads of sales from their existing site then great. But in terms of presentation, it's just not good enough, in my opinion, of course. Many people probably wont care about such things.

Strangely, as well as drawing in many cash generating fans, it continues to appeal to the browsing interest of the occasional numpty. 🤡

Very strange. Though don't be so hard on yourself, i'm sure you're not a numpty.

LIONS’ AWAY KIT PAYS TRIBUTE TO TOWN OF ORIGIN !

The choice of Golden Amber and Red for our secondary kit is a deliberate celebration of the principle colours of the Coat of Arms of Swinton and Pendlebury, which itself is featured in shadow on the front of the shirt.

The Borough’s Coat of Arms was first introduced in September 1934 alongside the town’s Royal Charter, at the start of a season which culminated in Swinton Lions being crowned champions of England for a fourth time. A shield featuring a gold cockatrice, beneath a red lion passant and two red roses of Lancashire, is flanked by two rampant golden lions. The red and gold Coat of Arms is topped by a Swinton boar’s head, all of which rides above the legend “Salus Populi Suprema Lex” – the welfare of the people is the highest law! An appropriate slogan with which to salute the dedication of our loyal fans.

Still don't like it.

A cockatrice is a mythical beast, essentially a two-legged dragon or serpent-like creature with a rooster's head. Described by Laurence Breiner as "an ornament in the drama and poetry of the Elizabethans", it was featured prominently in English thought and myth for centuries.

Abilities[edit]

The cockatrice has the reputed ability to kill people by either looking at them—"the death-darting eye of Cockatrice" touching them, or sometimes breathing on them.

It was repeated in the late-medieval bestiaries that the weasel is the only animal that is immune to the glance of a cockatrice. It was also thought that a cockatrice would die instantly upon hearing a rooster crow (we are in trouble if we play Sydney Roosters then), and according to legend, having a cockatrice look at itself in a mirror is one of the few sure-fire ways to kill it

Though it has to be said, bleep, that this doesn't seem to allow or what Isaiah mentions in chapter xi, namely "...and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.  They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea."

Sermon over!

I thought the Swinton away kit was a bit, well, Catalunyan!

You mean the colours of the Senyera? I think the natives might be fine with those colours.

The Senyera doesn't have white on it, and in Barcelona (for example the football team) - it isn't typically used. Contrast that with the Spanish national football team whose away kit is usually white.

Barcelona have had a few kits based on the senyera and have incorporated it into a one-off home shirt for a game with Real Madrid soon.
