The video ref made the only decision he could. He isn't allowed to make judgments based on arm position etc.

He’s allowed to make decisions based on the available evidence.

If he chooses to ignore that evidence then that’s on him.

Thanks. Something in the back of my consciousness told me it would be available at that very shop.

You can see from the front on shot.  The ball rolls out of his grasp, it is clear as day.  You simply cannot ground a ball that way when you hand is underneath/on the side of the ball.

From the front on shot it looks like he’s dropped it but as I said you can see his fingers still on the ball from the other shot.

I think we are letting the video ref off very lightly here. He is a grown up like the rest of us and capable of applying common sense.

Let's say the VR denies the try for dropping the ball. What happens to the VR?

Is he demoted or sacked?

Or does everyone agree that the ball was dropped and No Try is the correct decision.

This is a lot of work to get to a clearly wrong decision.

Would you be happy with a speeding ticket because a copper said you must have been speeding but he couldn't really see you wasn't.

I don't think it matters if Saints are happy, the ref's job is to give the right decision even it upsets them.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Paul Wellans "we let in a try that we weren't happy with", implication some tries we let in we are happy with.

Well I can remember on one occasion that two Saints players, Long and Gleeson, were very happy at Saints letting tries in.

Geez that's an awful kick from Austin.  You can't win games if your halves just give away a 7 tackle set on the 20 with an easy take in the in-goal.

You can't have it all ways. People complained the ref on field should decide, they complained the VR had roo much say, then to little say, they complained and complained whatever protocol is used. Protocol as defined NOW was used therefore its a try.

Sezer's showing (belated) positive signs, but how long can Leeds persist with Austin? He looks like he can't decide what to do at least half the time.

Another 18 months judging by his contract extension? 😁
