Of those no longer with us, the most famous would probably be Colin Welland (born Newton-le-Willows, Warrington supporter) and also his mate Brian Glover. Interestingly, Brain was from Barnsley and had never been to a game until he was cast in the London run of 'Up and Under' when he and another member of the cast thought that they'd better go to a game and went to Fev one afternoon. Apparently, the sound of a tackle in the play was done by hitting a turnip with a wooden mallet!

Charlie Austin, formerly of Burnley, QPR and Southampton, stumbled across Super League on Sky and is a big fan. He’s since moved to Brisbane Roar (and some our nicknames are bad) and went to Origin this year.

Fan is stretching it but when he was filming over here a few years ago he did enquire about attending a game apparently. Through his 'people'.
