Does the Library still do real ale's or has it gone all commercialised now ? The famous Tw..@ is a great pub!!

Absolutely brilliant. Tthat's just ruined it for me. I can't think of anything worse than being stuck on a train with those coked up, drunken, stone island wearing animals.

That's a better bet - also a spoons but more spacious and higher ceilings if you don't like rammed pubs. It's closer to the ground too, as is the Tollington Arms which is pretty decent and has an outdoor area if weather allows.

Do we have any resident Gooners, Londoners, or anyone else who might be able to provide some advice on where to get off the tube, where to go for a few pre match beers or where is good to go for a few scoops post match? I'm sure there will be a few of us visiting for the 1st time and would appreciate any general tips. If you like your interior dark, music a little on the heavy side and your women wearing short skirts with tats on display with a piercing or two that aren’t always on display, then Big Red up the road from the stadium is a must. God I miss going to the Big Red.

Worth noting that Tottenham are hosting Leeds Utd. on the same day with a 3pm kick off so it may be busy on routes up or down. The Little Creatures place gets my vote too, nice place and I like their beers. I expect we'll be making our way to the stadium on foot from Stoke Newington, calling in at several boozers along the way. "I'm from a fishing family. MrPosh Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Apparently the firm that usually steward The Emirates are committed to Twickenham on Saturday. This means it'll be a firm that don't know the ground and the set-up. Oh good. People called Romans they go the house
JohnM Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Does that firm only have enough stewards for one stadium? Are those stewards familiar with Twickers? Source, please. The "Dark Ages" is a term referring to life at the RFL under the new regime. It's characterized by a decline in openness, professionalism, transparency and achievements,

I'd be fairly certain this has happened many times before and that the Emirates and Twickenham have hosted events on the same day. I can't possibly see why it would be a big deal.
Coastal_Geordie Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 It’s a world class stadium, third behind Tottenham Hotspur stadium in this country (St James Park being first of course). Cannot wait to be there. It remains hilarious that getting to London is easier and faster than getting to the north west from Newcastle. This game should look mint on tv too.
Gav Wilson Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Taking notes on this thread with interest. I'm on the 8.58 train to KX from York on Saturday morning and stopping at the St Pancras Renaissance with our lass. Going to the game then a night out in Camden with a few of my London based mates. Futtocks Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 By the way, although Drayton Park station may look close on the map, it tends to be closed when there's a match on at the Emirates. A peculiarity of one of London's almost-forgotten lines - they only started erasing the Eighties "Network South-East" logos and running modern trains a couple of years ago, but it's still a bit of a spooky time-warp.
