I have always said ten team super league. If we merged or rebrand all the heartland club we could have a league of ten 5 clubs from from Yorkshire , 3 from greater Manchester , 1 from Merseyside and one from Cheshire.   All the other teams would complete in a development league.

My Yorkshire 5.

1 , Hull Raiders - Hull FC and Hull KR

2. Wakefield FC Tigers - Wakefield , Featherstone and Castleford.

3. Leeds City Rhinos - Leeds and Hunslet.

4. Bradford Calderdale Bulls - Bradford , Keighley and Halifax.

5. Kirklees Calderdale Cougars - Huddersfield , Dewsbury , Batley. Halifax

Greater Manchester.

1. Wigan Borough Warriors   Wigan and Leigh.

2. Manchester Mets - Oldham and Rochdale.

3. Salford Lions - Salford and Swinton.

Cheshire.

1. Warrington Cheshire Wolves - Warrington and Widnes.

Merseyside.

1 , ST Helens Liverpool Saints- ST Helens And Widnes.

i have given Widnes and Halifax two possible teams.

I can see how some of them would work, obviously Hull becomes really strong and the Ponty teams probably benefit from it. Really not sure the point of Leeds merging with Hunslet or Halifax merging with Bradford and Keighley. The same could be said for Huddersfield, they are already made up of players from those areas already so just killing 3 other teams off for the sake of it seems a very Rugby League thing to do. Think the RFL might go for it.

I have merged or rebranded all to make things fair.Every club would have to give a little ground .

Missed you, Superten.

Great ideas — I would just tweak the Wakey franchise’s name to Wakefield FC Roving Tigers, just to mash all three existing clubs identities in there.

thanks its been a while. lol

Silly idea! And one that would never work.

I do think Bradford and Keighley should merge though. Obviously they'll play at Odsal as the Bulls are the biggest club in the BD postcode*.

*OK I know I'm fishing here but I'd have been guaranteed a few bites for sure

Let me tell you right now, if you merged the Hull clubs you would lose an entire city of RL fans. You'd go from having 20,000 people regularly attending games in the city to zero overnight.

Are you sure?

Hull FCKR .......has a nice ring to it if you say it fast

Of all the dumb things in this post, having Keighley in team 4 and calling team 5 the Cougars did make me chuckle the most.

Look at the state of rugby union in South Wales.

Look at the state of Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra in the NRL.

No surprise the same fella came up with the idea. David Moffett.

The only reason the Aussie teams are somewhat viable is because rugby league is by far the biggest sport in Sydney/NSW.

Huddersfield and Hull FC killed Gateshead and Sheffield too.

Its never gonna work.
