In reality, Haven are safe barring 2 shock results tomorrow. Tbf if I was a Swinton or Keighley fan I’d be furious that Toulouse put out such a weakened team today in a game of such importance. Clubs used to get heavily fined for it (integrity of the competition etc) but not these days.

Wakefield did so last night.

Points % is irrelevant. Pts diff, tries, goals ,dgs then toss of coin

Sorry, Les. Points % comes before try difference and the rest of them. There's about nine or ten tiebreaks. Doubt if we've ever got past two.

Yes you're correct but I doubt it'll come to that

I like the drop goal tie break. It comes into effect if points diff, points percent, tries and goals are all equal. I can pretty much guarantee drop goals will be equal too - with the one exception where points difference is zero.

62-10, a wise decision to give it a miss

Enjoy thrashing Widnes NOT because i don't like em but we've suffered at their hands over the years with 40's 50's and 60's galore, Martin Offiah used to beat us on his own.

Still raging at York turning down an easily kickable penalty against Whitehaven in the dying moments of a game they lost by 2 points!

If Swinton hadn't imploded in the last 2 minutes at Newcastle or taken a couple of kickable penalties at London instead of running it, we would be safe. If we go down noone to blame but ourselves. Table doesn't lie at the end of the season.

Think you should look at the team TO have put out over the last few games before you pass comment.

Despite whinging about loop fixtures or the Bash, the truth is that the season can always hinge on a team having the luck to pull off an unexpected victory against a team having an injury crisis, even where every team plays every other once, and only once, both home and away.

Haven took 4 points off Sheffield, who could finish 3rd.

Deserved both wins as well. Apart from Fev, Newcastle, and Toulouse at their place, everything else was pretty equal and hard to predict.

"I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"

Did we chuck the towel in?

I was surprised at how much of a dig Widnes had in the first half, given it was a dead rubber - scored two excellent tries (the first was a cracker) and barring an error from Dixon just before the hooter they would have been 18-10 down and with the slope in their favour in the second half.

Those first half efforts had clearly taken their toll though as Fev had clearly worn them down and it was one-way traffic in the second half.

Fax need a draw or better to make the play-offs.  London are definitely in the six, barring defeat by an unlikely margin.

London are playing for a home draw in the play offs though, if they win and Sheffield beat Braford they go up to 4th

Played some decent stuff in the 1st half (2nd try was very good) but totally out muscled throughout. We were stood at the end Widnes were attacking 2nd half and I don't remember them getting into the 20 over the whole 40mins

Being out muscled doesn't surprise me, I suspect your back line would be bigger than our pack.

Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.
