Great player. Don't know why we didn't play him much this year. Unless its attitude but that's a shot in the dark tbh.

It usually is, but that’s not always a negative. Having a personality clash at one club doesn’t mean you will at the next. I remember Ben Westwood and Peter Roe couldn’t stand each other, so much so he left ASAP. Didn’t seem to have any further issues with coaches.

His dad Dean and DP are ex teammates etc at Leeds. Could be a mates rates type of signing.

Phenomenal peice of unbiased journalism from the gutter website that is SARL ( obviously not serious about journalism)

I've not axe to grind with either party, to be honest  I couldn't care less. But the dross that comes from this site is unbelievable

This is the third absolutely trash article, by this same 'journalist', that has been posted on here today.

Because we only played fill in hookers for the interchange not specialists in that position, think about it.

I think we only had fill in hookers because of the minutes Ipape played, not the other way around. There were interviews with Ipape and Lam at the start of the season about him progressing to be starter rather than a bench player, and he played 80 mins for PNG in the world cup.

It still surprises me how much Lam seemed to sour on Aaron Smith after him having a really solid 2022, I'd have liked to see a bit more of him last year. Smith is a good defender and has really good distribution off the deck which I think we missed at times last year.

In more on topic news, Beaumont has dropped a tease that the marquee has been signed so I think we can expect a new halfback announced to replace Reynolds in the next week or so, I assume it will probably be the Millford deal finally getting over the line.

It was puzzling to see him left out so much, my assumption is that with Ipape playing such big minutes, he'd want someone versatile on the bench to interchange with him. And to be fair, Mellor didn't look out of position when he moved there.

If we sign Milford, i've no idea what to expect from him, other than he should be an improvement on Reynolds, who imo is better served playing a more central position, either as a traditional scrum half, or a loose forward at first receiver. Beaumont also said that there'd be another signing who would be a fringe / 19 man squad player. Guessing that could be Olpherts if Kershaw is heading to Leeds.

Embarrassing so we are told 😉

What's embarrassing about signing 2 young lads on trial from a SL club?

Are you getting mixed up with Dual Reg?

No I, I’m not. They are on trial, ie loan. Embarrassing for a supposedly ambitious club that’s just let go its most promising youngster Simon. Either that or your using a double standard, but surely you wouldn’t do that.

They sold a player, and have taken 2 players on trial with a view to signing them, so nothing like a loan. Nothing wrong with that, especially as the cash will help run their development teams.

Multiple NRL clubs reportedly interested in singing Henry Arrundell, English rugby union Player.

He is 21 years old and a phenomenal player. I’ve personally seen him score are incredible solo try against the wallabies and also he scored 5 tries against Chile in the World Cup.

he is an absolute speed demon and would make an incredible rugby league player in my eyes. I Really hope a club picks him up.

Coming from that background, the NRL clubs had better hope that the lack of opportunities to play international rugby league for England isn't something that would be a deal breaker for him.

Sheffield have had a few ins and outs but they have re-signed the Farrell brothers, Kris Welham, Ben Jones-Bishop, Quentin Laulu-Togaga'e and crucially Anthony Thackeray. Among others they've also signed ex-Eagle and local boy Eddie Battye, former player and Midlands youth product Ryan Miller, hooker Kyle Wood and Alex Foster from Cas.

A couple of players who have left will be missed, but I think overall the squad is stronger. The average age may be an issue, but you can't argue with the experience level.

I'd say signing Matty Marsh from York is their best signing.

Have they also made James Glover's loan permanent?

Yes, both of those are excellent too.

Sheffield putting together a strong team, although my team are now in SL I still love the Championship and enjoy it, Sunday afternoon games are perfect.

With Sheffield, Bradford, York, Featherstone, Toulouse, Wakefield, Batley and Halifax all looking strong it should be a cracker of a division and I hope the RFL Commercial can get a TV deal, Ideally Channel 4 showing a Sunday 3pm KO with Emma Jones, Kev Brown and Leon Pryce.

It would be excellent for the Championship.
