So, just to confirm, we have the game having its highest visibility on mainstream FTA in decades, a credible deal with Sky, and all this?

Looks awful. IMG are making mugs of us.

I don't really know what this is but it sounds fun.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Basically means clubs (and players) should be able to much more easily and quickly improve their social media content output. The clips and pictures will all be there.

It's an overly wordy press release tbh, but I'm sure there are some good things there.

Outside of the boring jargon stuff, its interesting to see this mention streaming up to 6 games per week. Is this partnership what will lead to the RLc's own streaming platform?

There does appear to be a lot of repetition and jargon, it'd be good if it was just simplified bullets of what this really means.

Oh no.

In a vain attempt to breathe new life into something that IMG wanted killed dead, but which has carried on anyway, someone has put out a press release that makes people notice it.

The horror.

This is a giant step forward in monetising our content in real time.

Centralisation of this so clubs and RLC can take advantage of it is going to be so much more efficient and effective. Clearly clubs themselves couldn't make it work, no doubt it would've been cost prohibitive.

What's going on... 2 bits of good news in 2 days. We need to slow down! 🥳

And this is the next hurdle. The clubs need to use it properly. Hopefully they will have guidance on how to do that, then it is up to them. Fingers crossed.

It's also about making sure we are pushing it via Sky and other media partners to get as much exposure as possible on their channels/apps too.

The clubs should hopefully be able to generate revenue from increased sponsorship opportunities. "The Harvey Norman replay" style.

Although that relies on them having social teams working the content/assets and the commercial intuition to sell the opportunity.

This is great news for Super League, one of the things RL in this country seriously lacks is exposure on things like Social Media.

We have an incredibly exciting game that in each match can have multiple moments that could be clipped and put out in a 1 minute/2 minute clip to get more eyes. The NRL are doing great with this type of content.

It will hopefully also improve highlights of games in general, as highlights of a match are the highlights, at the moment 90% of highlights of SL games seem to just be tries, we have a lot more highlights in every game then just the tries that are scored.

Like everything at the moment, let's see how it pans out.

If SL end up with some thing more like this

https://www.nrl.com/

than this

Betfred Super League

and this

https://www.rugby-league.com

gets a complete overhaul, then it will be great for SL clubs.

What happens for the other 23 pro clubs is unclear.

Those other 23 professional clubs (and more) are fully part of this, it literally says:

The partnership will cover the Super League, Championship and League One plus the Women’s Super League, Wheelchair Super League, Challenge Cup and the England teams.

I was literally (rather than  metaphorically) thinking about this:

Tailored Workspaces: The 12 teams in the Men’s Super League will enjoy personalised workspaces within ScorePlay, ensuring seamless access to their specific assets and resources.

However, having read this:

this won’t be a public platform, but instead allow for easier and better social media management across the sport and Super League as a whole. It will work in a method whereby the media can be made instantly available for social media channels etc to more efficiently capture the viral moments within the sport.

I'm a lot less interested. As you were.

Yes, that's a framework and system to get decent content out efficiently and quickly. The kind the sport has failed to do since forever. As with all this, it's up to the clubs and RFL to make it work for them but the structure is now there whereas before it wasn't.

Yeah.

I thought it was something it isn't.
