Funny hearing Woods on Sky while the game is also on the Beeb.

Spolit for viewing choice, even if the game isn't anything special.

Watched first half on Sky with Woods, watched 5 minutes od second half on Beeb, went back to the master.

Yeah, I'm not AS KEEN on him as some on here, but he is a massive improvement.

Please stick to discussing the match in question and do not accuse match officials of being biased or corrupt or you run the risk of being immediately banned from the forum.

Two people didn't read the above and have now been permanently kicked off the forum without further warning.

Goodbye Wolfey Rovers and Bigboff.

Zero tolerance for this sort of rubbish this season. :kolobok_angry2:

Please don't respond to any of their posts earlier in the thread, as they will be getting deleted very shortly.

Exactly my point.

Fine, not spent decades watching the game to know, but would be interested to know, do you think it makes sense that they can't check, or can't overturn if it's very obvious when checking for something else that they've spotted an obvious one?

I think it would probably cause more problems than it solves. Camera angles and the whole definition of what a forward pass is aren't really conducive to checks by the video referee. I would also hate for every try to be micro analysed for forward passes, as would inevitably happen.

Maybe just me, as an occasional viewer, getting annoyed with it. Lots of views across sports forums that rugby has got officiating and TMO right in a way say football hasn't. And I see that often, but then wonder why I a sport that goes to endless replays on some details can't deal with such blatant infringements. They spent ages looking at the offside on the kick, that happened a second after the pass...

I was trying to watch both games and comment on both on here. The Catalans v Wire game is very close and probably more exciting as such. Yet the difference in numbers of people posting on the respective threads is remarkable.

I can't help wondering why a Wire fan is posting on this thread when his team are playing at the same time.

And, more infuriating, why the usual suspect Wigan fan, rather sadly,  keeps posting laughing emoticons just to wind people up while offering nothing in the way of constructive input.

I'll stick to the other thread.

(I know, I wont be missed.)

Just catching up on this one and skipped to the incidents on the bbc feed, and if the Watts tackle is a red i have no idea how Wigan aren't down to 11 for the Smith and Ellis incidents, especially the Smith one which I would've thought a red at any point in the last 10 years.

This Cas side are performing better than I’d expected, given the quality of players in the squad. Look well coached, and certainly showing some grit. Fair play.

I think that they'll be a problem for a lot of clubs, once all the new players start to gel with the existing core.

Think I'm going to stop watching here, so I don't have BBC spoil what the score is in the Cats - Warrington game.

Cas actually did perform better than I expected them to, so credit to them for that. They just couldn't hold onto the ball when they were attacking, compared to Wigan who sorted it out and I don't recall many lost balls in the second half from them at all.

If Cas were able to hold onto the ball when in those attacking situations, put on the pressure, perhaps they could have scored some points and this game wouldn't be 4 - 32 which perhaps isn't a complete reflection of the game

There’s always next season for the Wire 😀

Seriously it shows the power of having a match on the BBC on a Saturday

Fair play to Wigan, good value for the win.

From a Cas perspective, a lot to be positive about. Last year, following the red card, we would have fallen apart and 70 would've been on. Instead, they kept going, worked hard. Still some questions about the attack, but defence is a huge upgrade on last year.

Scrappy game due to the weather. Always glad to get a win in the first game, and Cas away is always a tricky fixture. Hard to know much about either team after that with the conditions but I think Wigan's class told in the end.

Are you calling Futtocks intelligent? I was going to insult him but shall just send him a DM instead.

By the way you are quite correct sir.

Strangely enough, there has been an element of animus from me towards him ever since he deliberately balked me in a race at The Serpentine in 1983. It led to the cancellation of a lunch at Le Gavroche. Shameful.

Great to see some live rugby at a time when most of the fare is dross on terrestrial and......
