Vegas Again/2025 and WCC

Recommended Posts

Just goes to show that this trip is a little steep..

I've been watching Bruce all over the world for decades and have not spent anything like that.

At present I'm in Watford waiting for the 2 shows this weekend at Wembley and it's only cost £1300 minus food booze..

Granted no flights but if you buy tickets off Ticketmaster then plan  the trip yourself I'm confident it would be less than what's being asked...

Mate, there is no way. That is simply not possible.

Had a very quick look (it's late), and for $899 you get accom and match tickets, no flight.

Now, there is a package that includes accom, match tickets, and flights, for the similar price of $10899. But, that's a little more than 450 quid.

Correct….glad I didnt press purchase🤭

Are the Poms still trotting out this delusional talking point? The NRL and Australian RL as a whole has done more for the international game than anyone. Also, I don't think anyone has said that this is about growing the international game. It's quite clearly about gambling and tourism.

Last year's Vegas launch completely overshadowed the AFL season launch here and that is another reason it's being done.

We're hearing teams in the USA are starting up off the back of the events around the Vegas games.

I don't think this is very original.

Needs a bit more of a collective effort.

Could perhaps try it in smaller countries, say, somewhere near England,or better still, somewhere in England.

Currently the Cheapest flight from Brisbane at that time is about $1900 so together thats about 950 pounds.

NRL to reach out to NFL legend Tom Brady as commentator for 2025 Las Vegas extravaganza | The Australian

In the greatest broadcasting coup in Australian rugby league history, an NRL game in Las Vegas next season will be broadcast into 125 million US homes on America’s premier free-to-air FOX channel.

It is the first-time ever a rugby league match has been broadcast on a free-to-air network in the US.

This year’s two Las Vegas games were shown behind a paywall on FOX Sports 1, a subscription channel on the FOX network which shows Major-league Baseball, college sports and soccer.

FOX, which covers the NFL, is beamed into 125 million US homes.

Panthers confident of fan support as English teams snap up Vegas tickets (smh.com.au)

Panthers officials are backing themselves to be the best-supported club in Las Vegas for next season’s opening round match after being the only club to have tickets left in their supporters’ bay.

English Super League Club Warrington needed just nine minutes to snap up all their tickets released to members on Wednesday, while it did not take long for fellow English team Wigan, as well as NRL clubs Canberra, the New Zealand Warriors and Cronulla to follow suit.

Tickets for next year’s quadruple-header at Allegiant Stadium go on sale to the general public on Friday morning.

Ticket sales are already estimated to be well in front of where they were same time last year.

That explains why I couldn't find any tickets behind the posts when I clicked on Wednesday after work!

For any Wire/Wigan fans looking to buy tickets, do so through the link on your club sites. This will take you straight through to the main Ticketmaster site where all sales are done but will ensure your club gets credited with the sale. Prices are exactly the same either way.

Anyone looking at flights, consider a flight to Los Angeles and renting a car - you will find both on Skyscanner.  LAX has vastly more choice of dates and times, is better value and only a 5 hour drive to Vegas.

@fighting irish Are you confused by my confusion, or do you share my confusion?

I just don't understand how the following sentence makes much sense "Panthers officials are backing themselves to be the best-supported club in Las Vegas for next season’s opening round match after being the only club to have tickets left in their supporters’ bay."

Unless the Panthers have the biggest supporters' bay then so far aren't they the worst supported club so far out of people that have bought tickets?

Maybe lots of their fans have bought tickets elsewhere in the ground, or possibly they are confident of a sales surge later on? Or perhaps they are so embarrassed at having the lowest sales they panicked out a dumb response?

@Whippet13 hit the nail on the head, a rather silly attempt to cover their embarrassment with hubris.

Wigan and Warrington approached the NRL to be involved this year, not the other way round.

Wigan approached the NRL last year to play the WCC v Penrith in Vegas, but there wasn't time to arrange it.

It would have been terrific

Wow!!!

I guess if people have the money and want to go then fair enough but that is incredible !

We watch quite a lot of tribute acts at our local venue...enjoyed the Bruce one there ! ....having said that I gave up booze this year and tribute acts aren't quite as convincing when you are are sober!

Gone are the days Bronco that we pay £13.50 plus 50p booking fee .

Hence I've only done 9 shows in last 13 months..

Vegas is very expensive and the city tax is proper cruel...

It's the add ons that are the killer.
